To all of our loyal followers, clientele and future clientele: We want to assure you that we and our staff have been diligent with self isolation and official recommendations to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. In further support of this, we encourage everyone to contact us via email and include details, pictures and videos so we can plan your project with minimal personal contact.... Our team can accomplish much of any project with limited, if any, physical contact due to our insistence and adherence to proper precautions. We hope everyone is staying home, enjoying their time with loved ones, catching up on good books, movies, music and long forgotten chores. This is also the perfect time to think about what a wonderful and practical home lifestyle/environment would do for you in times of isolation and social distancing. Wishing everyone the best of health in these challenging times!

On November 7th, 1920, in strictest secrecy, four unidentified British bodies were exhumed from temporary battlefield cemeteries at Ypres, Arras, the Asine and ...the Somme. None of the soldiers who did the digging were told why. The bodies were taken by field ambulance to GHQ at St-Pol-Sur-Ter Noise. Once there, the bodies were draped with the union flag. Sentries were posted and Brigadier-General Wyatt and a Colonel Gell selected one body at random. The other three were reburied. A French Honour Guard was selected and stood by the coffin overnight of the chosen soldier overnight. On the morning of the 8th November, a specially designed coffin made of oak from the grounds of Hampton Court arrived and the Unknown Warrior was placed inside. On top was placed a crusaders sword and a shield on which was inscribed: "A British Warrior who fell in the GREAT WAR 1914-1918 for King and Country". On the 9th of November, the Unknown Warrior was taken by horse-drawn carriage through Guards of Honour and the sound of tolling bells and bugle calls to the quayside. There, he was saluted by Marechal Foche and loaded onto HMS Vernon bound for Dover. The coffin stood on the deck covered in wreaths, surrounded by the French Honour Guard. Upon arrival at Dover, the Unknown Warrior was met with a nineteen gun salute - something that was normally only reserved for Field Marshals. A special train had been arranged and he was then conveyed to Victoria Station, London. He remained there overnight, and, on the morning of the 11th of November, he was finally taken to Westminster Abbey. The idea of the unknown warrior was thought of by a Padre called David Railton who had served on the front line during the Great War the union flag he had used as an altar cloth whilst at the front, was the one that had been draped over the coffin. It was his intention that all of the relatives of the 517,773 combatants whose bodies had not been identified could believe that the Unknown Warrior could very well be their lost husband, father, brother or son... THIS is the reason we wear poppies. We do not glorify war. We remember - with humility - the great and the ultimate sacrifices that were made, not just in this war, but in every war and conflict where our service personnel have fought - to ensure the liberty and freedoms that we now take for granted. Every year, on the 11th of November, we remember the Unknown Warrior. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

A full yard makeover project from this summer that we did for some wonderful people! We started with removing old concrete and grass and then replaced it with all new deck, walkways, edging, mulch beds and some major pruning - a brand new yard on a budget! Some before and after photos included.

A little one day project from the summer, a couple pictures from before and a few after. Clean edges, pruning, flagstone steppers, rock and cedar mulch can all be installed quickly and economically. A wonderful way to make an aged yard look fresh and new!

Well worth sharing this post, take a second and check it out! We wanted to create a piece as special and unique as the yard we put together last year so, this natural stone fire table was the answer. A beautiful pergola project, an outdoor lifestyle created with some western red cedar and well placed lighting... Completely custom designed to the clients specifications creating, not only a beautiful result but, something very unique and personal. Thanks to the customers for allowing us a bit of artistic freedom and to our crew for the great work and effort!

A full yard makeover for some great clients! A couple of pictures show the yard before and during construction and one shows Casey (Beaver Bros Tree Removal) taking down an old, unhealthy tree.

This is part 1 of a 3 part job which we will be completing over the next 2 years. The client selected Roman pavers (Expocrete) for the patio and firepit areas, Kendall Flagstone for the pathway and Allan Block for the retaining wall and firepit kit. Our crew helped us do a wonderful job and the clients are thrilled and looking forward to part 2 next season!

Our other crew did a fantastic job making Milan and Alices place look amazing... Thank you (Milan and Alice) for the project and your parents for theirs as well, not to mention the great reviews! Awesome job guys! A big shout out to Beaver Bros Tree Removal for removing seven trees for Milan and Alice; removed some hazards and made way for some new and beautiful plant life.

No job too big or small! Pillars of Earth Construction is proud to be able to offer the construction for several multi-year projects weve booked this year (Tony has truly missed doing these massive jobs!), though there is a drawback... Photos of these completed projects wont be available for several years however well do our best to find progress shots worthy of our discerning audience. Photos included are of a paving stone repair job; we still offer completion of small projects (instant gratification is always a perk for us!), many of which we fit in on the weekend.

Simple project that improved this yards curb appeal and functionality immensly.

This Old Country stone driveway, bordered by Allan Block Jr, made for a nice touch by separating plants from stone.
