With the long weekend ahead, you might be planning to do some yard clean up and planting. The FireSmart BC Guide to Landscaping has a wealth of information abou...t how you can FireSmart your property as you start working outside. Check it out at https://firesmartcanada.ca//328254-PIP-Landscape-low-res.p Also remember to check regulations on backyard burning (a permit may be needed in your community), and remember that you are required to conduct any outdoor burning safely. Pilot Mountain Community, These are challenging times. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, let me assure you that the Pilot Mountain VFD is here for you. We have been monitoring and actively assessing the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation in BC and in our community, and we are prepared to safely and effectively respond to calls during this pandemic. Our top priorities continue to be the health and safety of our members and the community. When we respond to c...alls, you will notice we are wearing additional protective gear (gowns, masks, face shields, etc.). This is for our protection and yours. Information about COVID-19, how to protect yourself and what to do if you suspect you have the virus, can be found on the BC Centre for Disease Control website at http://covid-19.bccdc.ca Stay home and stay safe. Together, we can make a difference. Sincerely, Chief Gil Lainey, PMVFD
