HOW DO I CLEAN AND PRESERVE MY WILLOW TREE FIGURINES? Due to the delicate and handcrafted nature of each Willow Tree figurine, there are a couple tricks to taking care of these treasured items. Avoid moisture... Since the Willow Tree figures have an intricate painting process: multiple colors of a water-based paint are placed on the figure in thin layers. This means you should not use water or a wet cloth to clean your figurine. Doing so could affect the paint and change the original coloring of the piece. Use gentle cleaning tools To clean your Willow Tree figurine, use a dry brush or gentle dry cloth to get rid of any dust. If the wings rust, use fine-grit sandpaper and rub the wings carefully to get rid of it. Avoid any abrasive brushes or cloths that could scratch or chip the paint on your figurine. Preserving your Willow Tree figure Preserve your Willow Tree figurines by storing them in a cool and dry place, avoiding any exposure to elements that may cause your figurine’s color to fade or streak. Consider placing your figurine in a sealed display to help prevent dust from accumulating. Keep the area surrounding your figurine clean as well, such as a shelf or cabinet, to rid it of dust or other harmful materials. If you drop your Willow Tree figurine, try using a two-part Epoxy to repair the damage. Put a small amount of Epoxy along the site of the break and place the pieces back together, allowing the figurine to sit and set. With proper care and attention, your Willow Tree figurine will stand the test of time.
