The decision by Alberta Health Services earlier this week adds further restrictions to scheduled events and bookings at Pineridge Community Centre. All current guidance protocols and restrictions have been followed and will continue to be followed as we keep our doors open. We will remain open to serve our community and members in the safest way possible. Masks are required to be worn into our facility and there are hand sanitizing stations throughout the building. Our staff is continuously cleaning to ensure the safety of our patrons, volunteers, and their colleagues. BUT, and here is where you can do your part, IF you are feeling ill, stay home. We ARE in this together. Stay safe. Keep well. Be kind.
Hot off the press - November e-newsletter AND a message from the editor of the Village Square Community Hub in Pineridge: "Be brave and reach out if you need help. Reach out to a friend, a co-worker, or the Distress Centre (403-266-4357). And remember, regardless how big or little the concern is, you do not have to experience it alone." https://app.mlsend.com/x6m7w9/

It’s Waste Reduction Week! It’s a great time to take a closer look at how you can reduce food waste. Did you know over half the food Calgarians throw away could have been eaten? Here are some tips to help make the most of the food you love: 1: . Check what food you have before going to the store. Use a grocery list and meal plan to avoid buying food you won’t use. 2: . Plan one day a week to cook from the freezer and cupboard only.... 3: . Set aside the top shelf of the fridge as a ‘leftovers’ or ‘eat first’ shelf or make sure you label if putting in the freezer to avoid finding mysteries later. 4: . Wrap lettuce in dry paper towel & store in high-humidity drawer. Store tomatoes on the counter away from direct sun. Keep potatoes in cool/dark place in breathable bag. 5: ! Don’t judge a bruised banana or a funky-looking carrot. Blemished or unused produce are great in soup, smoothies or baking. Visit https://lovefoodhatewaste.ca/ to learn more. See more
