I get asked about the eye drops babies get after birth quite often. Here's a great article about them. It's a bit lengthy, but basically explains - if you have an STD virus (herpes, gonorrhoea etc.) these drop will help protect your baby's eyes. If you don't - they are probably an unnecessary irritant to your baby. And, they are optional (not everyone knows that).
