Join us this Saturday, November 28th for our Virtual TechXploration! We will be learning how to create a simple Scratch game from start to finish. You will learn how to create code to make clones, add a scoreboard and add a timer for a fun Colour Hunt game. The goal of this game is to hunt the yellow Prey while avoiding the dark blue Invaders. Using little blocks that are different colors, kids must place them into the board creating a scene for their game. Each block has it's own special traits ie. green is land, blue is water etc... The user then takes a picture using one of the devices provided it will scan the c...olors of the blocks and then they can play their game on the device. This game will develop fine motor skills, coding concepts, game design as well as creativity. Great for any ages as you can make the games as easy or as hard as you would like. This week in TechXploration we will be exploring MakeyMakey by creating and building our very own storyboard! This activity requires a MakeyMakey kit, paper, pencils/colouring utensils, and brass fasteners! Using Pinnguaq's story storm activity learners will design and create a story and will then code it in Scratch using recordings and the MakeyMakey extension.
