Tuesday is Crew Day at Pipers! It takes a lot of amazing people to run Pipers. From the crew you see working at our 5 stores, to the staff behind the scenes in receiving, in our offices, and in our warehouse! Crew Day is our opportunity to celebrate and thank our team of essential workers at Pipers. ... This week, we're profiling Robyn Harvey. Some people dedicate their lives to helping others, and Robyn Harvey is one of those people. For the last 4 years, Robyn has been making our customers' day with her ever-cheerful disposition at Pipers on Topsail Road, where she works as a Cashier. Before that, she was a Personal Care Attendant, a babysitter, and she's been a dedicated mother to her two children, Matthew and Tiffany. As a member of her church, Robyn has been doing charity and mission work that spans North America. She has traveled to Guatamala 4 times to build houses, make improvements to a local school, and work with school children. She said in one week her group can build 6-8 houses. She also stocks up on the $2 packs of pillowcases at Pipers throughout the year and uses them to make dresses for little girls in Guatamala. She said every 2 years she may have 50-100 made and ready to be sent down. Here, in Newfoundland, Robyn has repelled down Atlantic Place to help raise over $10,000 for Easter Seals, and she knits hats and mittens to donate to the Gathering Place. She said, "I'm not going to change the world but, if I can, I'll change it just a little bit to make a difference." We are simply in awe of Robyn. Thank you, Robyn, for all that you do.
