Style is Subjective. That being said, there is much more to the process of creating the perfect piece than meets the eye. There are 5 key ingredients to my design philosophy and its the unique combination of all of them that keeps us evolving and creating new pieces for you.... 1. Fit- its not just about if a piece will fit my Body, but how it translate and works for all the beautiful shapes and sizes that make this a challenge. How a pattern is designed impacts how fabric drapes, flatters, hides, and fits. 2. Comfort- its about ensuring that the garment isn't too restrictive, holds and flatters, doesn't have rolling elastics, and is just easy to wear. 3. Details- function is key here because things like pockets need to hit at a flattering place, and any additional to the basic garment (a flutter sleeve, a toggle, waistband elastic) must serve a purpose. This also comes down to length of pants/ shorts, can a normal bra be worn with coverage etc. 4. Style- its not just about what is "on trend" but what translates across multiple style personalities. Offering a variety of prints/ solids for maximum impact and being mindful of how pieces will integrate into customer wardrobes is key. How can pieces be layered/ styled easily for a customer to make them unique. 5. Versatility- how easily can this piece be worn from work, to play, to party simply put. My goal is to make it easy to get dressed, and creating pieces that tick all the above boxes ensures their versatility and usefulness for customers. The more you can wear and love putting on a garment for whatever occasion, the better the investment it is. Mother's come in many forms. Those who give us life Those who nurture our growth. I count myself lucky every damn day that I have been blessed with such magic in my life. A mother who walked through life's fires and taught me how to perservere, believe in myself and never give up. The world is a heavy place right now. The days feel long, and the uncertainty runs deep. We have had to replace playdates with zoom calls, become personal assistants to our children in ways we never imagined, and juggle new challenges day to day, all while confined to the 4 walls of our homes. Not so long ago I was a registered therapist and it was my job to help bring people the tools to navigate their stress and anxiety around living with uncertainty..... and maybe its tim...e I passed a bit of that along to this community. No one has been given a road map of how to cope, manage and navigate a pandemic. Trust me, I don't have one either. But what I do have is some insight and strategies that might make navigating your day to day a little bit more managable during the days ahead. Whether or not you believe it, you are not walking alone through this. 2021 I know, I've been quiet. To say that 2020 left me exhausted and emotionally drained would be an understatement.... I've watched many of you post about how sh#$ 2020 was, and also how it taught you so many valuable lessons.... I personally reflect on 2020 as a giant blur. 2020 feels like the biggest challenge I've ever survived. There were times when you challenged my mental health, and almost broke me. My anxiety was overwhelming, and in some ways I felt like I lost myself all in the name of just treading water to survive. Sure, we saw small and giant victories along the way, but also sacrificed seeing loved ones, coffee dates, travel and HUGS!!!! While I am definitely grateful to have made memories and found a simpler appreciation for many things.... i'm still wrapping my head around how I will be moving through 2021. The one thing that I am sure of, is that my goal for this year is to find purpose in my every day. To understand the purpose for the universe calling me to this journey. I've found myself in this space before.... questioning what comes next.... and I've always found it helpful to let my mind wander and Manifest how I want to feel, what I want to see and what I'd like to create. So, here's where I am. The journey to what I see next may be way more challenging than I expect. It may take longer than my patience can bare, but I have faith that I will get there..... that we will all get there. While I may not know for sure what the purpose of 2021 is quite yet for me, i know that the journey will include continuing to create, continuing to connect and continuing to preservere.
