The Canadian Real Estate Association has recently released their forecast for 2021, and has given readers a positive outlook for what's to come in the year ahead. Here are some highlights; - The national average price is forecast to rise by 9.1% in 2021. - Shortages of supply, particularly in Ontario, are expected to result in strong price growth. - While sales activity is forecast to ease back to more typical levels as the year progresses, a record year is still expected in... 2021. - Demand in Ontario will be especially high for larger single-family homes, as buyers compete for desirable properties. - Economic indicators such as record levels of international migration, low-interest rates, and more millennials entering their home-buying years will continue to support a strong housing market. - Mortgage and interest rates are at all-time lows and are expected to remain at current levels through 2021. - The shift to a work-from-home environment has created a new focus on home for many consumers, driving a desire for larger homes with more amenities.
