Therefore, Pitts Landing is CLOSED until further notice.

Sorry, we are closed until at least mid-June due to Covid. We will keep you posted.

Like you, the geese and swans are eagerly awaiting spring. Lots of ice and some snow to go yet. The road to the campground will be closed for a few weeks. Let's keep hoping for a May opening

We found this pretty but strange coloured mushroom. Some of our campers are mushroom experts. Does anyone have a name for this one?

We were wrong! The Madoc pool committee will take all the bottles and cans they can get. Chairman told us today that they will easily reach 12,000 by Thanksgiving. Keep drinking, support our swimming pool fund.

Thanks everyone for your donations of LCBO returns and pop cans. Our donations have helped. So far the swimming pool committee has raised over $8,200 for the fund. Thanks again to everyone, keep drinking!

WARNING: Someone has been putting garbage in the recycle barrels instead of in the bin. While the raccoons love it, we are not pleased. We will make a step to make it easier to reach the bin. However if this happens again, the bin will be removed . Please help us.

A SHINY YELLOW BIN. Yes we now have a new garbage bin that we (you) have to pay for. PLEASE remember that we all should continue to keep our garbage at a minimum so that we do not have to go to a bigger and more expensive bin. Thanks for saving your beer, pop and LCBO containers for the swimming pool fund. Please remember to NOT thank the municipality for the yellow bin. Continue to use clear bags.

Our cottage has many fond memories

Message from Centre Hastings Fire Dep't.: Due to the dry conditions, starting today, July 7, Centre Hastings is putting a Fire Restriction Order in place. This means campfires only from 7 PM to 7 AM, one metre in size, supervised by an adult at all times. Daytime burning is prohibited. Thanks.

A bit of breaking news: we hope to have a garbage bin on Monday! Just so you know, our wonderful municipality now refuses to pick up garbage from businesses (even with a large tax increase in 2020)!.

Thanks to everyone for being patient with our new rules. We have had some say that they would not join us because they can't visit others. Please, go visit your neighbours, but remember safe distancing. Support our village by wearing masks in stores. We are all in this together.

A NOTE TO ALL OUR CAMPERS: We began the year with low water and are now headed for a serious drought. Our well is suffering like many others in this area, We ask you to help us by using as little water as possible. Thanks...Gayle and Grant

A message to all our campers: Just in case anyone is wondering about fallen trees, spring flooding etc., In a year with lots of bad news, here is some good news: there was NO spring flooding, water was hardly over the road. Update: While the province says campgrounds "May prepare to open" this weekend, Pitts Landing is CLOSED. We have chosen to be very cautious and are aiming for an opening in mid-June. All rents will be adjusted accordingly. The gate remains closed and locked for now. Thank you for your patience and understanding..

Thinking of all our summer friends. Please be patient. We will be seeking guidance from the Health Unit before we decide on an opening date. Until then, we are in lock down!.
