The films awarded in the 2020 Special Online Edition of Plateau Cape Verde International Film Festival, which just wrapped, and in whose jury I sat this year. And three non-awarded films (the last 3 on this sequence) which focus on important cultural politics issues, including the one I feel was one of the most memorable protest movies I've seen in ages, the experimental short (Lyz Parayzo). For more details, see previous post.
I have sat on the jury of the International Young Reporters for the Environment competition for 6 years now. Every year we gather in Copenhagen to award sharp minds from 11-25 years old for their articles, photos, photo reportages, mini docs, and campaign videos tackling environmental issues around the world. This year we gathered over Zoom and for the second year we decided to select a Photo of the Year, in addition to all the others. See below for the chosen photograph, a link to the original photo series, and my quote on behalf of this year's jury.
Coming soon to a screen near you :D :D :D
