School teachers and students around the world know us and our high-energy programs for being interACTIVE as we build positive social skills through movement and... play. As we strive to keep students, teachers, staff, administrators, school staffs and our communities safe, here's an outline of how we've adapted our curriculum-based programs! First, instructors are required to follow guidelines for face coverings, physical distancing, hand washing and signage at programs, based on local government, health authority and school district mandates. That's the basics on which we're building. For those of you wondering, here's specifically *within* our program, how we've adapted our lessons, activities and teaching methodologies: Physical Distancing: Students will be placed in 'spots' 6 feet away from one another. This will be their designated movement space. Bubble of Awesome: Our signature 'Bubble of Awesome' will absolutely continue to be used, not only as a space where students get to show their own style and practice the most awesome version of themselves - it also reminds our young movers to stay in their own space. No Props/Equipment: Until further notice, our curriculum-based programs will no longer include activities where props or equipment are shared between groups. Rather, our programs have been adapted to use signs and prompts led by the instructor (PSST - Did you know that our award-winning school curriculum programs are available both as in-person or VIRTUAL programs?) Move for Mental Health: In these challenging times, movement is critical to help our students stay active, healthy and in a positive mindset. Our 2020-21 PL3Y Education Activations and Residency programming has been enhanced to include more activities that target Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, as well as movements and lessons to make the link between physical, cognitive, emotional, social and mental health. We're committed to continuing to inspire students and young people to live healthier, happier lives through movement and play, and doing so in the safest way possible. This school year will be a year like no other. We are here to support educators and administrators in offering a quality physical education and physical activity experience for students and their families. Teachers, we've got your back. We know you can do this and we are here to help. We see you and we know it ----> You are AWESOME! PL3Y Education BC PL3Y Education Calgary PL3Y Education Edmonton PL3Y Education Wood Buffalo
‘Even just watching people synchronize their movements in dance or when making music together can give us a feeling of harmony and affiliation. The time spent together dancing and laughing creates such a strong bond and feeling of comm(unity).'
Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day
