Yup. Plant choices matter. Native tree and flowers provide way more nutrition for birds and native bees.

Just across my desk. I think we need to pay attention to this because on Vancouver Island now we are getting conditions of low food for bees and likely pesticide exposure from nps homeowners and in places that produce fruit vegetables and wine grapes. I wish this latter component was better defined. Still loosy goosy. Very frustrating. How do we get this critical component pinned down because I know it is taking out bees of all kinds, a significant part of our Vancouver Island bee decline. So it is a very big deal across our landscape.
