The bigger picture. As much as we wanted to bounce back after a day lockdown/closure, the bigger picture is to combat COVID-19, the pandemic we have been battling since early spring. The local public health message is clear, stay home except for essential reasons. For this, we are rescinding our decision to open our doors to the public. Our meek sacrifice to at least give humanity a fighting chance to attain the bigger picture, prevent the further spread of COVID 19 and in tu...rn save more lives. Thank you to all who have expressed support, shared their wisdom and stood by us no matter what direction we decided to take. Let us divert our passion and love for plants to our love for human life and be patient that someday in the near future when everything is truly safe, your happy place PlantMomma would certainly be open and welcoming of your visit. Upon diligent and careful review of the latest Public Health Act order issued yesterday, November 12, 2020 (https://manitoba.ca//pro/2020_2021/orders-soe-11122020.pdf) we are deemed to be inclusive among the essential businesses allowed to operate during these times found on the Schedule section item 75 page 24 of the order: "75. A business that provides bedding plants, seeds and garden supplies, including a greenhouse that sells these items to the public or other retailer...s." Please find attached pictures of our garden supplies (pots, soil, plant care products, green moss and plant media) available for purchase and bedding plants that could be used for your indoor gardens. A huge replenishment of media is also scheduled to arrive next week which includes charcoal, coco fiber and chunks, general orchid (phalaenopsis) media, odontoglossum, fine miltonia/paphioped, cymbid mix, fine and medium fir bark, bonsai mix media and perlite. With very careful thought and consideration, we will be opening our doors to the public starting tomorrow at our regular schedule but in a very very limited and controlled fashion. Our 25% capacity is 13 however, we will be allowing only 5 plant lovers at a time. With this measure in place, we implore for your patience and understanding. Please come prepared with jackets, toques and mittens as a line up may occur. You could also wait in your vehicles if you opt to list your names in our queue management. Our curbside pick up option (204 894 4886) is still available to those who opt to pre-order ahead of time to skip the line. Thank you very much to all that called and emailed to express your care, concern and support with our current situation. You have given us hope that amidst these restrictions we are still able to provide to you joys, laughters and some form of healing through our plants here at your happy place. We wish everyone well as we express understanding on why our public health officials have implemented these orders, so please cooperate, participate and stay safe for there is light at the end of the tunnel.
