Lego bouquet for adults, sweet gifts from my boys. When is Lego Hoya available, wondering.
We wish you peace, joy, health, safety, and lots of patience. Happy holidays!
Tim likes to mount Hoyas on planks. Bella is quite happy. Stay safe and support your local small businesses in this new wave of Covid.
Thanks for a tip from a follower, we found our brand name and logo used by a seller in an app called OfferUp (like an online Kijiji, only available in the US app store). Fighting identify theft can be slow and painful, especially the thief is in another country. Tech support of the App has not been helpful, as we could not download the app itself and report within it. If you have better suggestion on how to combat this issue please share.
Happy Friday with Hoya Rebecca blooming. Flower is the size of a thumb nail. This is a fast grower, from a cutting to this size, 8 weeks.
Hoya Scortechinii, medium size leaves with some flecks. If grown in bright light the veins will turn red. There are a few varieties out there, need to see the flower to determine which one this is. It is still in propagation stage, may or may not be for sale this year. We will be having our last Hoya sale next week and the week after. The varieties available next week will be: Fitchii, Merrillii, Phuwuaensis, Mathilde, Finlaysonii, Caudata Sumatra, Caudata Big Leaf, Meliflua.... We will make them available at different time periods on Friday next week. A heat pack is highly recommended for all ship-out orders. Demand is many times higher than what we could supply. Let's not forget it's the year of COVID, there have been many delays and plant loss in the process for us to acquire these plants from import. We do not accept pre-order or reservation. If you don't get any next week, there is always next next week, next month, next year. Borrowing these lines from our fellow plant shop @the.feathered.serpent - Please be happy for the people who get a chance to secure their dream plants because one day it will be you! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT FROM ANYONE (that you didn't get one. We appreciate your patience and it will be a big support from you not to complain about limited supply.
PRU Let's grow together series - stephania nova progress from @carolineerosee. She finds that the bulb does best when getting a lot of humidity and sun. It is in a mini glass greenhouse by a southern facing window. Water when the soil looks dry and the soil is a mix of cactus soil, orchid mix and peat moss.
Syngonium Podophyllum Pink Dot, different from the Pink Splash we sold in the past, is a very pretty plant with subtle and muted pink color.
Hoya ilagiorum, new kid on the block.
Hoya Obscura, grown with love. Can't wait for summer to put it outside to get some "tan". (Not for sale at the moment.)
New growth directly from cut areas. Seems like only Hoya pachyclada albomarginata does it this way.
Philodendron Red Heart, patiently waiting for the "red heart" color to come out.
Another Hoya plant in our collection with the sun-kiss colour potential - Hoya Merrillii which has thick glossy veined leaves and yellow flowers.
We seem to be on a trend of collecting sun-kissed Hoya plants that will change colours under lots of bright lights. Meet Hoya Fitchii, known for its beautiful veined leafs and gorgeous flowers.
PRU Let's grow together series - Callisia Repens Bianca from @conchsummer. The original plant was shipped in late August (last picture). With lots of sun and water, leggy stems pinned down by paper clips, it's now looking full and lush. Thank you for sharing a little pink on a gloomy Monday here in Toronto.
Hoya Pottsii, beautiful shiny leaves very easy to grow. When placed in sun/a lot of light or the cold, the leaves will take on many colours. A stunning Hoya!
PRU Let's Grow and Showcase Series - Hoya Pachyclada Red from Annamaria. The original plant was purchased in May 2020, see the third picture. Thanks to everyone for contributing to this learning and sharing series. We appreciate it. The plant is in an orchid medium, gets light orchid fertilizer every second week from summer to fall. If it is to hot every week she gets a small drink, it appears that she prefers to be dry than moist. She is placed in front of a window from sunrise to sunset getting all day sun. The plant already flowered twice since May. The scent is heavenly, like citrus with a small hint of spice, very pleasant and not too strong!
Hoya pachyclada albomarginata, a beauty!
PRU Let's Grow and Showcase Series - Hoya Rotundiflora from @sam.tata.58. This is her second Hoya. The plant was purchased in Jan 2020, see the second picture. She uses orchid mix and a spot grow light. She finds that Rotundiflora likes to climb more than hanging. A trellis makes it happy.
After four months of delays, the Sansevieria kirkii var. "Coppertone" finally arrived. The beautiful hue and pattern is worth the wait. We will reroot them in the next few weeks. Patience, is what we all need to go through this tough year.
PRU Let's grow together series - Hoya polyneura Dan @danthehoyaman shared the progress of this Hoya Polyneura. It has put out four new leaves within two months after purchase. Dan's tips are: chunky mix, SMALLer pots, water more than other Hoya plants. The fishtail hoya is sitting on a grow table by a east-facing window with ceiling fan on all day to increase air flow. Read more on his Instagram. Thanks for sharing. #myPRUplants #letsgrow
As plant sellers and growers, we are always delighted to see how our plants are doing in their new homes. Please send us plant pictures and your growing experience, share tips on lighting, soil mix, watering frequency or any other information that may help fellow plant lovers. We will feature your pictures in our feed. Let's grow together. #myPRUplants Today we feature a Hoya Serpens (sold in March 2020) from @kun19741. It's grown much bigger comparing to the second picture when the plant was sold. He uses indirect bright light from a south-facing window, grainy soil mix with coco coir. He has about 200 Hoya plants in his collection and finds it easy to grow Serpens.
Monster size Stephania Suberosa bulbs available in the shop, almost the size of a small watermelon. A statement piece and a conversation starter. Already sprouted with roots, ready to go.
