We are busy doing custom retail and workplace covid-19 shields and interaction barriers! We have a variety of premade designs and we can also make custom barriers and panels. Material availability is fluctuating so please visit our website and call us to confirm your orders. We are also open and ready to service all your other cut to size plastic and fiberglass supply needs.

I haven't been too involved with the faceshields as lots of other people working on the problem and the material I could source is all gone. We are working with Tinkerine https://tinkerine.com/community The foam barb design is a collaborative effort that I saw coming together last weekend. The other design was also collaborative with some ideas from my first design that I posted here.... Anyone looking for these in front line health application, please go through Tinkerine at the moment. Greg

This is the prototype with Greg as the model! Does this seem a good size for the front?

Standing by and willing to help on this. Great idea!

There is a potential for us to be working in partnership with local 3D printing company Tinkerine to make emergency face shields. We might be sourcing and laser cutting the clear fronts. For the "head" part they are trying to remix a design that others in the printing community have started to allow a fleet of printers to make 500-1000 per day. Just for a challenge Plasticworks also developed and interated a design on Friday for the head part that can be cut on a CNC router. ...these are designed to use with elastic with holes for buttons, not shown in the photo. The version in the photo is also only 3/8 thick as we have lots of cut offs. Making it thicker would cost more but be more comfortable but the design doesn't change much. Tinkerine is taking the lead on this for higher level provincial needs but we are curious what local doctor's needs might be.......having had a few requests but not overwhelming. So, are these needed at the GP level? Are they unavailable? Let us know.

Well, since there is a need for these, I'm throwing this up as a promoted post as well. Plasticworks is making a few standard sizes of "desk shields", sneeze guards, whatever you want to call them. They are good for anyone that might be considered essential but want to have some help in the whole social distancing area. We are making some for insurance offices, city halls, hospitals, and similar places. We have a few standard sizes available and can make custom if needed. Prices range from $90 to $195 and we can make them for a 1 day turnaround, so far :-).

Plasticworks, at this time, is open and operating normally with some new policies to protect staff and customers. If you have a project, like the modular counter barrier seen here, please know that we will prioritize any job that helps respond to the crisis first. If you need sign holders, glove dispensers, sanitizer wall mounts, or anything else you think we can make, please let us know. If we are directed to shut down we will still be available via email.

Making a trophy tag for the 107.7 Pulse FM Chritmas light contest and going a little old school with the paint filled colors!

Plasticworks is getting into 3D printing! Two different machines, one at each location. Plan is to get them working regularly printing useful items and sell them while we learn. We've dabbled before, we've made parts for printers (shout out to local Tinkerine! They make CSA approved printers and a school friendly curriculum), Now we are ready to see if these machines might find a permanent home in our toolbox. If you have something of general use you want to print (Google thi...ngiverse to browse), let us know! In the photos are a black door stop and a grey toy propeller. Other colors are coming. The machines will be in the front retail area so come by (maybe next week) and see what we are running!
