As expected, the Bank of Canada kept Prime lending rate the same. While the economy did rebound quicker than expected, we still have a long way to go. It is expected for the Bank to keep rates low for the next while. This all depends on what happens with the pandemic over the coming months. The Bank is monitoring the situation closely. The pace of recovery remains highly dependent on the path of the COVID-19 pandemic and the evolution of social distancing measures required to contain its spread.
