Here we have our stabilization compartment on the new Rescue 20-41. This compartment may look simple, but it took alot of planning and man-hours to make it all ...work. There are 2 vertical slides with a storage compartment for some cribbing. On the left tool board we have 4 Lifting/Lowering Jack's for our Res-Q-Jack Struts, 2 bags of chain, and a come-along with 10 storage cans on the other side. Within 8 of these cans is a wire hook strap, hook cluster, and small length of chain with a large "J" hook. They are also color coded to be paired with it's matching strut, this helps identification during rescue operations. The remaining 2 cans hold extra grab hook straps. Below this slide out are 4 Step Chocks with cogs for quick vehicle stabilization and 2 sets of wheel chocks. The right side slide out holds 8 total Res-Q-Jack Struts, 4 Large and 4 small, these are a great multi use tool for vehicle stabilization and controlled movement. On the interior walls of the compartment we have our picket system for creating secure anchor points during rescue operations. This was one tough compartment for our Truck Commettie when it came to layout, there was alot equipment to fit into a small space while keeping rapid deployment in mind. With the assistance of 4 Guys Fire Trucks, we were able to make it all work. Stay tuned for more updates on our new Rescue 20-41 over the next few days.
