Registration for the RePLAY season opens on May 28 (this Thursday). As we have done for the last 6 seasons, our FIRST team will continue to create and share resources here and on Share & Learn's affiliated websites (EV3Lessons.com, PrimeLessons.org, FLLTutorials.com) over the course of the season.

I wanted to share this with you all, as our office has received emails about COVID-19, and below is a good checklist of things that each of us needs to do in or...der to prepare for any outcome. The City is already preparing for the potential where many employees must work from home, and what that means for day-to-day operations. Calgary has seen our share of events that has made us prepare for these situations, the flood of 2013, being one of them. Talk to your employer about sick leave, the ability to work from home, and what kind of support will there be for you if needed. We all must be prepared for a two-week isolation, and what you will need to get through it. This means, making sure you have enough food, and medication if needed. Make a plan with your family. There is no absolutely no need to hoard. All the utilities like water, sewage, and electricity will continue uninterrupted. These systems are automatic and will be staffed by City employees. Isolation will involve working from home, cleaning the house, Netflix, and many books. Have a plan with family and friends, in case you need something dropped off, or picked up. This has already be occurring for hundreds of Calgarians who have returned from abroad, with volunteers who have been spent thousands of hours picking up groceries and medication for them etc. This is a community effort. If you have children, prepare for schools to be closed, and what can be done in that scenario if you need babysitting. Make sure you have a resource list of numbers to call, if you need assistance there is 811. Alberta Health Link is experiencing higher call numbers (811), so try off peak. IF you are being tested for COVID-19, you will be contacted with the results. Alberta is at a low risk, and those that do have COVID-19 are at home, isolated, and recovering. This will take all of us to ensure our health, and that of others are protected by covering our mouths if we cough, do not touch your face, and to wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap often. Many groups and organizations are cancelling events, conferences, and meetings out of caution, and I would recommend the same. To ensure that our health care system are given the best support possible to #flattenthecurve please avoid large groups for now. The Alberta Government is doing daily briefings on COVID-19, and what you need to know, and be prepared for can be found at www.alberta.ca/COVID19. This is a community effort, and let us support each other. #yyc #yyccc #flattenthecurve #covid19
