Hi Everybody, Unfortunately due to Mother Nature not coming through with the long cold winter we thought we would get we have decided to not operate the outdoor rinks at Victoria Park this year. The medium term forecast looks like it is not going to be cold enough for long enough to have the rinks safely operational for any length of time. We would like to again thank the volunteers who donated their time and know how to put the boards up this year and to The Rotary Club of Ingersoll for their continued support that allowed us to replace one of the tarps badly damaged last year. Don't worry, we will try again next winter!

We're ready for a long cold winter! The ice pads are back on the north and south small diamonds at Victoria Park. Special thanks to The Rotary Club of Ingersoll for their continued sponsorship. Also thanks to all of the volunteers that came out yesterday and today.

Multi Use Recreation Centre Facility Needs Study Consultant Approved! The architectural firm Nicholson Sheffield in cooperation with FJ Galloway Management Consultants has been awarded the contract by the Town of Ingersoll to complete a facility needs study, partnership plan, facility site review, conceptual drawings, capital cost estimates and phasing plan for a new multi use recreation centre in Ingersoll. Playright's Director of Special Projects and Chair of Ingersoll's M...ulti-Use Recreation Centre ad hoc committee, Rob Parsons, presented the committee's recommendation to Town Council on Monday where it was unanimously approved. "This represents a major step forward in bringing this from an idea to reality!" says Parsons. "We are looking forward to working with Nicholson Sheffield and Galloway to gather information from current user groups, potential new user groups and the community at large regarding a new multi use rec facility for Ingersoll. This process will begin in January and is to be completed by September 2017 when a recommendation to Town Council will be made regarding what should be included in the new facility and where it should be located based on feedback collected by the consulting group." President of PlayRight and committee member, Adam Funnell says, "The decision came down to deciding between 2 proposals. The unanimous decision of the committee was Nicholson Sheffield because they were offering everything and more the competing proposal was offering at almost $50,000 less. Value is important to this group". The next step is a presentation of the work plan by Nicholson Sheffield to the Multi Use Recreation Centre ad hoc Committee at their next meeting on December 14 with the facility needs study commencing in January. To our community friends and partners - we have some good news and bad news about the annual Funomenon event. Bad news first: PlayRight will be taking a break from hosting our annual New Years Funomenon that we've had since 2011. We did not make this decision lightly, however, we felt it was the right time to do so as there will be other major events coming up in the next 24 months that we need to focus our time and energy into. Now the good news! A new group called Local ...Ing which is comprised of Rob & Jessi Tremblett (Tremblett's Independent), Fred Freeman (Remax), Dom Ricciuto & Rob Parsons (Pharmasave), Jason & Michelle Smith (Spot Marketing) & Adam Funnell (Funnell Insurance Group) have made arrangements to rent the ice on New Years Eve from 6-8pm, and will provide an open skate with music, hot chocolate and snacks. This event will be completely free. We understand this will cause some disappointment, but we go forward knowing you appreciate the commitment that we have made to give our time over the last 5 years on such an important holiday. We look forward to working with you for many years to come!

Mother Nature clearly had other ideas than creating weather to support an outdoor rink in Ingersoll this winter! Thank you to our sponsors for your support this year! You will all be recognized again next winter when the rinks are up. Thank you also to our Town of Ingersoll Parks and Rec department for all of their work this season! Happy Spring!
