As Judith Thomson says, Besbouss is "a beautiful play and exquisite production." On behalf of the Pleiades Theatre company, cast and crew, thank you, Judith, a...nd thanks to everyone who came to experience Besbouss: Autopsy of a Revolt, an English-language world premiere we presented in association with Crow's Theatre. Besbouss was written by Stéphane Brulotte, translated by John Van Burek and directed by Majdi Bou-Matar wtih dramaturgy by Ric Knowles. Actors Saïd Benyoucef and Adam Paolozza brought the play to life, supported with lighting by Jennifer Lennon, set and costumes by Teresa Przybylski, soundscape by Daniel Morphy, stage management by Sarah O'Brien, and technical direction by Remington North. Behind the scenes work was by Artistic Producer Andrey Tarasiuk, Associate Producer James Graham, Marketing & Communications Director Laurie Murphy, Graphic Designer Rami Schandall, Video Artist Hallie Seline, and a host of amazing staff and volunteers in support of Pleiades, Crow's and the show. Thank you!

Final show tonight of Besbouss: Autopsy of a Revolt! "The production is directed by the hugely gifted Majdi Bou-Matar. While Bou-Matar came to Canada (he lives ...in Kitchener) from his native Lebanon his heart and mind are certainly focused on the revolution that is happening across Lebanon now. It certainly informs this production. Bou-Matar brings a vivid sense of imagery to his productions and there is that as well as a muscularity and sensitivity in every aspect of Besbouss: Autopsy of a Revolt." -- Lynn Slotkin, The Slotkin Letter Show starts at 7:30pm. Enjoy the FAMA-curated "Gallery of Hope" art exhibition in the lobby of Crow's Theatre.
