Jump for joy! Starting today, June 1, 2016, the Plan has increased many of the frequently used benefits. Dental, Vision Care, and practitioners have all seen increases for reimbursements. Dental - Combined maximum has increased from $2000/year to $2500/year. Major restorative services has increased from 75% to 80%. Vision Care/Exams - Reimbursement will increase to 100% from 80%. Glasses/Contacts will be reimbursed to a 24 month maximum of $400, and eye exams have also incre...ased from $75 to $100, benefit is eligible once a year. Eye exam extras (optomap etc) as well as children's eye exams will now also be reimbursed. Practitioners (Acupuncture, Chiropractor, Massage, Physiotherapy, Naturopath, Podiatrist) have increased from 80% to 100% reimbursement, and the the total cost of reimbursement has increased from $500 to $600, yearly. Counseling has increased from $1000 to $1200 reimbursement. Orthotics - reimbursed at 100% to a maximum of $400 per calendar year. Hearing aids - Maximum reimbursement to $2000 every 5 years. Increase from $1500. --------Plan changes that went back to January 1, 2016------ Special Seniors Benefit - increase of $100. 2016 total will be $700. Prescribed Birth Control - is now a covered benefit Weekly Wage Indemnity increased to $537/wk. Contact the office if you have any questions about your benefit plan!

Possible mail stoppage, keep in mind it will be up to the Member to arrange for pickup of any monthly correspondence. Self-Payments can be made over the phone by credit card. Direct deposit for claims are optional by submitting a direct deposit form on our wesbite: http://www.plumbers.bc.ca/forms/ Direct Deposit forms can be submitted by email or fax to our office. All other claims need to be original documents and can be dropped off at our office. Thank you, Health & Welfare Staff
--*--Anticipated Postal Strike--*-- *Please share this post so all members are aware! Please be aware that there is a possibility for a postal strike or lockout, the earliest potential strike is midnight July 2, 2016. ... All claim submissions from the previous year will still be required before June 30. Please note that all members who get reimbursed by cheque for Medical Services, Vision Care, Special Senior, and Weekly Wage indemnity will/could be affected. It will be up to the Member to arrange a courier to have cheques picked up. If the member would prefer a friend of family to pick up a cheque, we must need authorization or consent from the member. This strike will affect members receiving cancellation of benefits letters as well as Self-Payment notices. If you believe your hour bank is running low, make sure to call the plan office to check your status. All mail will be held in the office until the strike/lockout is over.
