Today we celebrate International Women's Day! PNI and our Empower Committee has rallied our team members that identify as a woman and/or are non-binary and two-spirit allies to join for a PNI representation photo. #wearepni This year we all #ChooseToChallenge to invoke change in the world we all share. We hope for a gender-equal world by celebrating women's achievements and raising awareness against bias. #IWD2021 PNI also ran a 50-50 raffle and is happy to announce that we have raised $445 to support the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre. Women have been one of the biggest impacted groups during the pandemic and are facing more challenges than ever before. 50% of the winnings from the 50-50 raffle will go directly to support daily meal programs and emergency shelters. #webeforeme

Today is Pink Shirt Day! All of us here at PNI stand with all of you against bullying. #leaveitinabetterplace #pinkshirtday In 2007 in Nova Scotia, Grade 12 students David Shepherd, Travis Price and a few friends saw that a Grade 9 student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt on the first day of school. They knew they had to do something to show that this kind of behavior was not OK. They decided to go out and buy a bunch of pink shirts and hand them out to other studen...ts to wear. By the end of that week, most of the students in the school were wearing pink shirts to show support for the Grade 9 student who was bullied. Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes and online. Over the month of February, and throughout the year, Pink Shirt Day aims to raise awareness of these issues. Let's all wear our pink shirts to raise awareness of bullying issues or better yetlet's all reflect on when we may have been a bully, and try and do better.be better.
