One of the reasons I started Pokète was because I love exploring and seeing the world and wanted clothing that was awesome for my adventures. Not so long ago I wasn’t so sure I’d have the chance to do that, or a lot of other things I loved to do, because my vision had declined to the point that I was considered legally blind. That was about 9 years ago. I could no longer drive, read a restaurant menu, and had to give up skiing as I could no longer see the terrain. So many thi...ngs were no more because of my vision loss. Eight years ago, November 6 to be exact, I was the lucky recipient of a cornea transplant. It changed my life. I got my vision back. I discovered my husband had freckles. I could ski again. I could read a book again. And even start my own business about a year ago. I got my independence back. Today I went to my optometrist because I was not seeing out of my glasses anymore. It was all fuzzy. When he checked my vision, it turns out I can see even better than 20/20! WITHOUT GLASSES! I’ve worn glasses since I’m 12 years old. 2020 is not all that bad after all.
