Drop ceiling going in. Black sound tiles will be installed identical to the original room (see picture 2). Ceiling will be finished tomorrow. Painting also begins tomorrow. Stay tuned to see our designer’s colour picks!!

New wheelchair lift just arrived! This will help with mobility issues to and from the stage, as well as the easy movement of rather heavy percussion equipment such as timpani. The weight capacity is 750lbs, and the platform is 5’ x 3’, so (in theory) the movement of an upright piano to the stage is a possibility.

Monday morning report: All the drywall is out, and the crews will have all the studs removed in the next couple of hours.

Daily construction update from the PCPA. Today, we went from no walls in the lobby to ALL walls complete.

Recording session: Monday, November 30th Edits & mastering: Tuesday, December 1st No artificial reverb is used in this recording. The reverb you hear is the natural sound of the room.... Thank you, Valentin, for trusting us with this beautiful project.

Construction progress. We have T-bar ceiling in the washrooms and lobby! 12’ ceilings, even in the washrooms!

Safe, socially distant recording session going on right now! We are glad to assist these amazing local artists to make music in these difficult times.

Fingers crossed we can flatten the curve and get back to making music! December 18, 2020 Sarah Gieck MacDonald (flute) & Leanne Regehr (piano) present "Postcards from an Imaginary Vacation".... Limited live tickets available. Get 'em while they're hot. Livestream also available. Under the current guidelines, this concert is allowed, as it features professional musicians in a professional venue. Refund Policy: If AHS does not permit live music events on the concert date, tickets will be refunded.

Despite being a professional venue, all events at the Polaris Centre are postponed/canceled during the length of the enhanced measures in the Calgary Zone. 2 weeks of inconvenience now may give us the opportunity to have Christmas/Holiday concerts. Everyone, please do your part for the common good. We will get through this together.

Enjoy Canadas first Covid-19 virtual music festival, POPFEST! Originally conceived to happen over a 3-day span, this one day virtual festival required about 7 days to put together. Each performer was given professional stage and recording time, using the fantastic HD camera equipment our resident company the RMSO acquired through the @CalgaryFoundation community grants. Once the individual recordings were completed, our technical team was tasked with combining pre-recorded v...ideo, a live zoom call with the performers, and live panelist discussion - all in a single broadcast view, an easy-to-access livestream format, and with a high level of production value. We can safely accommodate recordings and small performances (cohorts) from our stage. Up to 50 live attendees may attend - and we can live-stream broadcast your event.... The most recent COVID research shows that consumers are not engaging with content which has a static camera and sub-standard audio. By engagements, we mean donations, album downloads, and merchandise purchases. If you want to monetize your product, that product will need a high production value to stand out from the crowd. A beautiful multi-cam HD broadcast of your event with professional audio will really get you noticed. We can even set up your event to take live donations during your feeds. Remember the "BandTogether" Project livestreams from March, when this was all just beginning? Well, we were one of the first groups/venues to offer virtual concerts here in Canada. Once it got going and became more mainstream, we stepped aside to let other organizations and individual artists fill the niche, but were glad to have started the ball rolling. Tis the season to record your audition videos. RCM 9-ARCT exam candidates are now permitted to pre-record their pieces and studies. We are excited to be one of the recommended venues for your RCM exam recordings. With a Steinway A on stage, you can be assured of a fantastic instrument in a naturally reverberant space.
