I’m a firm believer in tackling projects on ones own if it saves time or reduces cost on a project. Lowe’s has a DIY spray foam kit on sale for $699. BUT...... there’s always a but. What this kit provides is 600 square feet at 1 inch of foam which should read 300 square feet to satisfy Canadian code of 2 inches minimum. This isn’t the fancy peach foam that we provide but the cost is actually higher. If we could use ever drop it would cost $1.33 per square foot at regular pric...e and $1.16 at the sale price. Now you need to buy coveralls, gloves, a protective respirator, and a face shield. Then go home and study YouTube for a bit to see how to use this fancy foam contraption. You’ll get a few minutes into spraying and the applicator gun will plug off. You’ll get a shower of foam when you go to change the nozzle. You’ll finally get frustrated and through it in the corner and call a professional to come do the job to find out they only charge $1.25-$1.50 per square foot per inch. so you could have carried on with a more pressing project and actually saved money hiring this project out!
