Polish Consul in Nova Scotia 24.12.2020

Today, as Canadians mark Remembrance Day and pay tribute to the men and women in uniform who keep us safe and free, we offer our warmest wishes to Polish Canadi...ans and all the Poles, as they mark Polish Independence Day. Canada’s bond with Poland has been forged through some of the most crucial moments in history. As we landed at Normandy on D-Day, Polish and Canadian soldiers fought side by side. Our countries’ commitment to fighting for a better world together continues to this day. This year marks the 102nd anniversary of Poland’s independence, after 123 years of partitions and foreign occupations. We salute Polish Canadians for their contributions to our country over their 150 years of settlement in Canada. On behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, we extend our best wishes to Polish Canadians and all Poles around the world on the occasion of Poland’s Independence Day. Wszystkiego najlepszego z okazji Narodowego wita Niepodlegoci!

This September, Nova Scotia proudly marks Polish Heritage Month for the first time. This year’s inaugural celebrations are being led by the Polish-Canadian Soci...ety of Nova Scotia, and will include both in-person and online activities to promote and celebrate Polish culture, heritage, and traditions. Polish Nova Scotians have made, and continue to make, significant cultural, economic, creative, and social contributions to our province, and I’ve been excited to take part in the ccommunity’s special occasions and festivities over the last number of years. To all my Polish friends, constituents, and all Nova Scotians, Happy Polish Heritage Month! (Photos taken a few years ago at the annual polish event).
