Formerly the Royal Mall, award-winning landscape architecture firm Gustafson Porter + Bowman transformed the space into a new publicly-accessible garden square. Rathbone Square is a calm, secluded space amidst the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street in London and features a central garden. The garden and surrounding planter boxes, built from February Stone of the Month Picasso Granite, offer plenty of seating for urbanites to enjoy the outdoors.

Measuring in at 600 feet, our Vermont quarry is the world's largest "deep hole" dimension granite quarry, although most of it is under a well of aquamarine blue water. Sought after worldwide for its fine grain, even texture, and superior weather resistance, Barre Gray granite is the ultimate long-lasting choice for art and architecture. A sculptor's dream, Barre Gray granite is also known for its exceptional carving quality, allowing artists to capture intricate details in natural stone. https://bit.ly/3orkQba

Sara Raak of SKG Design's new firepit wall, sitting wall, and outdoor kitchen were all crafted from Indiana Limestone - Full Color Blend from Polycor's Hardscape & Masonry line of outdoor residential products. Made from the same stone used on college campuses and judicial buildings across the U.S., Indiana Limestone - Full Color Blend is a historic stone known for it's warm bluff color and medium gray tones. Our dry-stacked, non-retaining line of Garden Wall natural stone is ...ideal for floral beds and seating areas. All garden walls have split faced sides and are sawn on both top and bottom for an organic landscape element. Woodbury Gray granite wall caps also pictured here. Many assume Indiana Limestone's porous nature make it a stain magnet. Think again. When treated with a breathable sealer, similar to how you treat concrete pavers, Indiana Limestone can stand up to everyday mishaps, like rust or grease from a grill, wine or ketchup from a party, or tire marks on a driveway. For more than a century, Georgia Marble - Pearl Grey has been used indoor and outdoor on architectural projects across the country. Its white, grey, and black veins create an interesting surface movement for a dynamic installation. Explore all this stone has to offer, https://bit.ly/36pNF1C

Clocking in at just over 350,000 cubic feet worth of Georgia Marble - White Georgia, the Field Museum in Chicago is the largest marble building in the United States. Not to be outshone by Sue, the largest, best-preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil, and the true star of the museum. The museum was recently updated to acquire LEED status, no small feat for a building with neoclassical stone walls originally built-in 1921. Using locally quarried stone is only one factor to consider when trying to accrue enough sustainability points for LEED accreditation. Talk with one of our LEED Green Associates today to see how Polycor's North American quarries can support your sustainability journey, https://bit.ly/36ENnCP

What better way to design a new civic building than through a design competition? Award-winning Toronto-based @KPMBarch won with their campus of low-rising buildings, an homage to the rural agrarian landscape. The Vaughan City Hall and Civic Tower anchor the composition and the entire plan is organized around interconnected atriums to maximize access to daylight and fresh air. The floor plan and materials greatly reduce solar heat gain and reliance on HVAC systems and artificial lighting. The new Civic Centre has been called an "exemplar for cultivating civic landscapes and environmentally responsible development for the 21st century" by @ArchDaily, winning a LEED Gold Certification. Canadian quarried Kodiak Brown granite is used for the exterior landscape, cladding, and interior floor finishes.
