Many are sad to see Remembrance Day events cancelled due to the pandemic. At tonight's City Council meeting, I was proud to announce a COVID-friendly Remembrance Day event in partnership with the Royal Canadian Air Force: Please join me on your doorstep right before 11:11am on November 11th, as Capt. Colin Holubowich from 19th Wing at CFB Comox flies over Port Moody, in honour of our vets. ... Most of Port Moody should be covered by the flight plan, although conditions may affect timing. November 11th is a day to remember those who fought, those who sacrificed, and those who never came home. We hope for, and act towards, a future without war. #lestweforget

Honoured to receive the "first poppy" from the Port Moody Legion. I've heard loud and clear that the cancellation of our annual Remembrance Day ceremony has been deeply saddening to many in our community, and I agree, it is very sad. Despite this, we will not forget the sacrifices made, and we will forever pursue world peace in the name of those who died in the past, as well as those who have yet to be born in the future. ... COVID impacts us in so many ways, and I hope we can put together an even greater ceremony than usual in 2021. #lestweforget #worldpeace
