Do you have a bag of red kidney beans in your cupboard and don't know how to use them? Try out this easy and very economical recipe for 'Bean Burgers'! I served these on a bun with bbq sauce, lettuce and tomato with a side salad and they were very good! I will be making this again for sure. Some tips if you want to try these: I used my hands to squish the beans up and finished with a fork.... Get inventive! Use the spices you like to flavour the patties or even the water that you soak or cook the beans in. Allowing the mixture to sit refrigerated for a while before making the patties really helped them hold together better. Smaller patties are easier to handle (and flip) and don't fuss with them too much. Make sure your cooking oil is hot enough and you cook the patties long enough to create a crisp crust. If you try it out - let me know what you think!
