Peterborough Pop Ensemble

Effective this evening, the current Board of Directors for the Peterborough Pop Ensemble has stepped down, to make way for the new board who will be supporting the ensemble under the joint leadership of Arlene Gray and Maureen Harris-Lowe(Stay tuned for details on this soon - today we focus on thanking the exiting board). The Pop Ensemble wishes to take a moment to thank the people who have worked so hard on behalf of The Pop Ensemble, especially during this challenging year ...of losing our beloved director Barbara Monahan, compounded by the arrival of Covid which upended the entertainment world. Thank you to Ed Lacey, Gail Pomeroy, Justin Monahan, Catherine Dewar, Madeleine McDonald and Susan Dunkley. Please find below a little blurb about each of our members and their length of time in supporting us here at the Pop Ensemble. Thank you All! Ed Lacey has served on the board for the past 7 years, and as acting Chairperson for the past year. He is an Executive Financial Consultant, Certified Financial Planner professional and Registered Retirement Consultant at IG Wealth Management Group. . He believes that giving back to his community is very important and is associated with many different organizations including the Pop Ensemble, Lions International, Parkinson’s Association, Community Care and Peterborough Minor Hockey Association. Gail Pomeroy has acted as secretary for 12 years now. Gail has done an amazing job of keeping our board on track and making sure that wonderful notes have been taken. Thank you Gail! Justin Monahan has acted as our Treasurer for the past 3 years (and yes he is related to Barb!). Justin has grown in this role and we are grateful for all the support he has given us! Thank you Justin. Catherine Dewar has served on our board for 1 1/2 years as a Director at Large and has been a huge resource for both our social media content as well as our contractual agreements etc. Thank you Catherine! Madeleine McDonald has been the Member representative for the past 6 years. Madeleine has been very strong in ensuring that the ensembles opinions are heard and never forgotten. Madeleine has performed with the Pop Ensemble for the past 20 years. While she will no longer be on the board she will continue with the Ensemble as an outstanding Alto! Susan Dunkley has now served on the board and as the Business Manager for the Pop Ensemble for the past 20 years. Her countless hours have been appreciated and have resulted in outstanding concerts and events running flawlessly. 8 years ago Susan created the Charity program that has, to date, supported over 16 charities within our community. We are grateful for all she has done over the years to help us grow to be the Ensemble that we are.
