Reminiscing about last summer’s weddings and how blooming gorgeous they were Thank you @confettiwedmag for the feature and of course @shantelle_louise_photography and @popupweddingsyeg for the amazing collaboration @trestlesedge If you’re looking for blooms for your intimate affair this summer we’re here for you!
It’s officially the months in the growing season where I oscillate between: I have more plants than I know what to do with and ... I should probably pick up a few more seeds, what’s another few trays? I’ve come to learn this is a natural part of the flower farming process and I’ve got to just embrace it. I take it as a sign, I’m on the right track
Oh hey! It’s me Pam. Bidding the snow adieu and imagining fresh green fields of blooms in its place I grow a little flower farm just outside of Radway, Alberta mostly for some flower therapy, and also to indulge in our agricultural roots. We’re primarily hay and cereal grain farmers, and flowers are my passion project. ... After learning more about the global fresh flower market, I knew flower consumers needed to take more care in what they are purchasing. I want to create beautiful pieces grown right here at home. I mostly wholesale blooms to local florists and host a few fun days out at the farm. Each year I create a few beautiful weddings for couples interested in sourcing local, earth friendly blooms. (No airplanes or plastic required) This year we have some very exciting partnerships coming up and some great news for the folks in St Albert. Thanks for following along! And supporting this flowery journey.
Sowing sowing sowing Planting like crazy these days, tray by tray, flower by flower, we can’t wait to watch these babies bloom
Do you know where your flowers come from? Your veggies? Your fruits? The rest of your food? ... The best way to know is to grow them yourself of course! Or check in with your florist or retailer and find out from them. They may travel here further than you think One of the places I purchase our flower and veggie seeds is @westcoastseeds link in bio for their website. #Planting positive change
#flowerfriday has me reminiscing about lush green flower fields
#flowerfriday Choose what makes your heart bloom
Another episode of #flowerfriday goes to @peakxpebble and this stunning bouquet of locally grown beauties for our August bride
It’s all in the details we love making flowery crowns and hair pieces for your special day. DM to inquire.
Happy #flowerfriday check out the beautiful details on this Cafe au Lait dahlia
Can’t stop, won’t stop peonies, allium, yarrow, lupine, prairie sage, ferns...
Ok, here’s another dahlias, yarrow, statice, craespedia, cress, clary, and more
I love flipping through the photos of all the fluffy blooms from the past summer like these peonies and allium and Shasta daisies too
I’m so thankful we planted so many flowers that dry so beautifully! Here’s 2 different varieties of statice that are a must plant for any dried work
We are the granddaughters of the witches they couldn’t burn (And also how I feel about the 2020 wedding season) Happy Halloween
This summer was a busy one and we’re so grateful for all the love and support! We’ll be back next year and continuing to share our beautiful images until then
Happy Fall Y’all
Clary mix is a welcome self seeder in my garden. They have a nice long vase life and are so interesting to look at. The petals remind me of stained glass
Back eyed Susan’s are so gorgeous! This little agrees.
Cloud grass and bunny tails are a hit every year. You can’t help but reach out and touch them! We are currently packing up dried bundles for your indoor decor, they add so much personality wherever they are
This summer I planted more dahlias than I ever have, and had fewer blooms than ever before I also learned that the tarnished plant bug loves the alfalfa fields (across the road) and well, the alfalfa stays. So, I think the dahlias will be moving closer to the city next year. #flowerfarmerproblems
Zinnias are always the first to go in a freeze They come in so many shapes and colors and can be direct seeded early in spring. They’re good bloomers and send even more stems every time you pick
Well, it didn’t freeze last night, but it sure is chilly out here today! So neat to see all the cool loving blooms get some new life too. Like these pink pokers statice they seem to be loving the chill.
We’ll pretend the sunflowers are the sunshine today it’s going to be overcast, but we’ll still be out enjoying the flowery views. DM for directions to our open garden today

We made it through the weekend FROST FREE! this time of year is always a gamble in the garden. I’ve had years where we have flowers til October, and 2 years ago we had a week of snow the first week of September and nothing made it through I wonder how this season will go? ... For now, we’ll be in the garden Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 10-1p and Sunday’s from 10-2p weather depending. Would love to see you there! DM to let me know you’ll be coming. It’s $25 to fill a mason jar or average sized vase. Meet you in the blooms
We’ve got all the sunflowers blooming these days. Did you know they came in so many different colors? I was talking to a friend about how the leaves often have the yellowy tinge to them this time of year, as they prepare to fall So far, there’s no sign yet! Maybe we’re due for a late warm Fall?
Our gardens have a variety of annuals and perennials and so far each year has been very different #albertaweather This year we have over 80 varieties of plants in the garden. Most of the annuals are started in February and March, many get direct seeded in May and June too. ... As we continually build our perennial beds (many of those taking years to establish) I love seeing how the garden changes each week. The dahlias in this photo will get dug up and stored through the winter season in hopes of using the tubers again next year. It’s been so rewarding and interesting to continually learn and grow with the blooms and I’d imagine there’s so much more to know
What a fun flower pickin day we’ll be out again today if you’re free to swing by 10-2p DM to let us know you’ll be by
