During the 2020 Annual Meetings in Reno, Nevada, the following law changes related to membership were passed on the floor by a vote of the Aerie delegates: 1. T...he $10 re-enrollment fee will be waived until December 31, 2020, for members who were dropped this year from the rolls for failure to pay dues. This rule is effective Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Any members who were charged a re-enrollment fee prior to July 22 will not be entitled to a refund. 2. Any member who was dropped this year for failure to pay dues who re-enrolls before the end of the current fraternal year (May 31, 2021) will be allowed to keep their years of membership. These members will still be considered re-enrolled and will be subject to a vote of the membership but will retain their original initiation date. This includes benefit membership status, so long as they pay the proper dues amount associated with benefit membership. Any member dropped in a previous year who re-enrolls will NOT be entitled to having their years of membership reinstated. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the effect it has had both health-wise and financially on our members, the Grand Aerie approved these measures as a way to assist members impacted by the pandemic. If you have additional questions regarding these law changes, please contact the Membership Department at [email protected] or via phone at 614-883-2177. For Member Management System (MMS) help with re-enrollment or reinstating years of membership, please contact [email protected] or call 614-883-2199.

***ANNUAL MEETINGS MOVED TO RENO, NEVADA JULY 20-23*** Brothers & Sisters, Over the last 10 weeks, our lives have changed considerably. In the face of this glo...bal pandemic, we were forced to temporarily close our Aeries, cancel many of our annual State/Provincial Conventions and miss out on valuable time with our Eagle brothers and sisters. After substantial discussions with state, county and city officials from Washington, it has been determined that we will be unable to hold the 2020 Fraternal Order of Eagles International Convention in Spokane this July. However, we will be holding our Annual Meetings in a limited capacity in Reno, Nevada, at a hotel to be announced in the coming days. The dates for the meetings, July 20-23, will remain the same. Information regarding booking rooms and reserving scooters will be made available as soon as possible. This will include ONLY the Grand Aerie and Grand Auxiliary business sessions, nominations, election of officers, the Memorial Service and the Installation. The Grand Aerie will NOT be holding evening banquets/events, Ritual competitions, training courses, vendor experience opportunities, merchandise sales or hosting hospitality rooms at this Annual Meeting. This decision was not made lightly. However, we feel that limiting the meeting to the necessary business functions of the organization is in the best interest all attendees. Members who booked through our room blocks in Spokane will be receiving room cancellation notices from our hotels within the next few days. Those who are unable to attend due to the new location and those who have paid for banquet tickets will have refunds processed by the Grand Aerie Accounting Department as soon as possible. Due to the large number of refunds and our annual audit, this process may take a few weeks and we would appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through refunding these payments. Though it may be difficult to see now, this global crisis has shown us the power and importance of being an Eagle. Through tremendous hardship, you have repeatedly risen to the challenge, assisting your communities with meals, resources and supplies to help those in need. You’ve found ways to adapt and keep our Aeries and Auxiliaries together as a family in spirit, despite our inability to gather physically. In 122 years, we have weathered countless storms and the situation we currently face will be no different. We are strong and determined individuals committed to making a difference and no pandemic can dull those characteristics. We look forward to seeing you in Reno next month and if you can’t attend, then we hope to see you at the 2021 International Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. May God bless you all and we’ll see you again soon where Eagles fly! Fraternally, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Board of Grand Trustees Carl Burnett, Chairman Ron Malz, Grand Worthy President

Brothers & Sisters, The last few weeks have been unlike any we have seen before due to the coronavirus crisis and as we continue to abide by the orders of our r...espective States and Provinces, we know that many of you have important questions about operations moving forward. One of the primary concerns is in regard to local Aerie and Auxiliary Elections. Per the Grand Aerie Constitution & Statutes, Nominations are to be held annually at the last meeting in April. Obviously, this will not be possible for the majority of our Aeries and Auxiliaries this year. Those that are still able to meet must proceed as outlined in the Constitution & Statutes. Those that cannot meet, by order of the Grand Worthy President, should proceed as follows: -First meeting after re-opening: Nomination of Officers -Second meeting after re-opening: Election of Officers -At least 5 days after Elections: Installation of Officers In the event a local Aerie or Auxiliary would like to expedite this process, they may do so only by following the Constitutional requirements regarding holding a Special Meeting, found in Section 72.2. The format and voting time for your elections must follow what is outlined in your local Aerie or Auxiliary by-laws. All current officers will remain in their respective offices until your successor is duly elected and installed. We’ve also received many questions and concerns regarding upcoming dues. The Grand Aerie has made the decision to cover the cost of the first dues reminder that is being sent out to all members who still have yet to renew. Local Aeries and Auxiliaries will NOT be charged anything for the first reminders. At this point, the Grand Aerie remains committed to the May 31 dues deadline, with a 30 day grace period extending until June 30, and we will continue to monitor the situation in the coming weeks as things progress. Lastly, we’ve heard from many people about the various small business loans being offered on the state and federal level in the wake of this crisis. We want to remind everyone to follow the word of the Constitution and Statutes regarding obtaining any financial assistance as an Aerie or Auxiliary, which means you would need the approval of your membership. We know nothing about this delicate time is easy. Several of our fellow brothers and sisters have fought and continue to fight the coronavirus. Many more continue to serve on the frontlines as doctors, nurses, first responders, etc., to protect and heal those fighting the virus. To all, we hope you and your families remain safe throughout this time and we can’t wait to see you all on the other side of this, stronger than we’ve ever been. Fraternally, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Board of Grand Trustees Carl Burnett, Chairman Ron Malz, Grand Worthy President
