Info for Boaters I received a call from Transport Canada wondering if we could get it out to the public, (Boat Owners) That all vessels on the water with motors over 10hp must be register with Transport Canada , this includes all pleasure craft (Water Craft) and fishing vessels. They informed me that a fishing vessel with a CFV # doesnt mean it is register with transport Canada but they must be. Below is the link to register your pleasure craft for Free (1) and or your f...ishing vessel , not sure of the fee (2) Fines of $250.00 can be issued to boats not registered. 1- https://www.pcl-pep.snbservices.ca/1001/pubWeb/Default.aspx 2 - https://tc.canada.ca//registering-small-vessel-register-ov Should you require assistants or more information call anytime (709 861 7466) Please Share this to make more people aware of this law.

Just spoke to Ice operations, as of now the Ann Harvey will be here on Tuesday, April 21, possible Monday. We will update if anything changes.
As of today ice operations are looking at late next week for a harbour breakout, should anything change we will keep you updated, we know this is late and we are working hard to get them earlier.
The Harbour Authority has put in a request for a harbour breakout for as early as this coming weekend, they have not informed us as of yet that they are coming but just wanted to make people aware that we hope to get one soon. We will update once we get more information.
The Harbour Authority building will be closed to the public until further notice. Anyone requiring more informal please call anytime. 861 7466.
Someone got some damage to their vehicle, would have been nice if they would have reported it to us, pretty expensive stuff left exposed.
As Im not home I stole a few pictures from FB of the 3rd annual boat lighting.. Great job again.
Congratulations to Clayton Plowman for 30 years of service and Floyd OKeefe for 20 years of service with the Port au Choix Harbour Authority. Great job guys.
The boat lighting has been changed until Dec 20th, so lots of time to get those boats lighted up, come on, cant happen without the support of our fishermen....
Skipper Will Cornick, in with another good load.
You would Never say we just placed 2 garbage boxes for bait bags on our wharves, unreal.
Small Craft Harbours will hold another photo contest for their annual calendar again this year. Below is a description of what you need to do if you are interested. You can drop by the HA office for a copy of the forms anytime. I can also send them in for you. Each photo submitted will be entered into a prize draw.
For the person who left their old oil and filters on the wharf, can you please dispose of it. This is an unacceptable practice anymore and you are responsible for your own oil and garbage. Thank you in advance.
We now have 2 new collection boxs for bait box liners on site, these are put in our harbour in partnership with DFO to collect plastic bait bags to keep then out of the water. These boxes are not meant for any other kind of garbage and they will be removed if this should start to happen. We have to keep a count on the bags that are placed in these boxes, this is a great idea and we sure hope that people dont abuse it.
Still hanging around.
