Port Perry Snowmobile Club 02.01.2021

Lets give a big round of applause to the two asshats that have already jeopardized our landowner relationships, and our sports image in the community in general. On top of it today is the day we are positioning groomers for the season, and start packing some of this snow down to help drive some frost down. Now volunteers who are giving their holiday time to start grooming operations will have to deal this issue first. When the trails are late to open, or not open at all, or ...you find yourself riding on road reroutes, these are the type of people you have to thank. Please people leave them parked or ride only on private property you have permission to ride on, till we get more cold and snow and have a chance to get some trails open. There's more than enough for volunteers to deal with this season, there is absolutely no need for us to have further stresses. Was really looking forward to doing the annual moving of the groomers, and start of grooming operations post with lots of pic's today, the excitement of doing that post has now sailed :-( #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

There's a lot at stake this season to keep trails open, lets not jeopardize it before it even starts folks. Please leave them parked till we see sustained cold and lots more snow, and most importantly till we can actually open the trails. There is zero frost in the ground and not near enough snow, riding now will only strain our relationships with our generous land owners, there's also high chance of hurting yourself and/or your sled. Thanks in advance for the cooperation folks ;-) #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

It's now up to the riders if we want to ride once we get the snow and cold to open the trails. Don't mess this up folks, do the right things and keep yourself and others safe. #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

Together We Can Do This: OFSC Requests Cooperation From Snowmobilers Hold your horses. Curb your enthusiasm. Cool your jets. Don’t jump the gun. However you want to say it to snowmobilers excited about the first significant snowfall, the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) cautions that riding any OFSC trails at this time is premature, illegal and unsafe until a trail(s) show as Yellow (Limited Availability) or Green (Available) on the Interactive Trail Guide (ITG).... Furthermore, premature use of any OFSC trail actually makes it considerably more difficult for a club to get that trail base set and ready for the upcoming season, so everyone has to wait longer. Worse, it is also trespassing that frequently results in a permanent trail closure. As snowmobilers know, the OFSC, our districts, clubs and volunteers are working hard to deliver the best possible trail riding experiences this winter, but we need your cooperation and patience throughout the season to succeed. With many factors indicating increased participation in trail riding this winter, your assistance not only means staying off Red (Unavailable) trails at any time, but also includes following our Ride Smart 2021 pandemic response plan for healthy snowmobiling to prevent virus spread that could threaten everyone’s riding season. Meanwhile, we are aware of safety concerns being expressed on social media about many novice and former snowmobilers expected on the trails this winter. So, the OFSC is strongly recommending that new or returning riders invest an hour or so to check out the Safe Rider tips under Resources on the OFSC website (especially sections 3, 4 and 5) which are also great refreshers for every snowmobiler. While you’re there, please also take a moment to read the waiver and answer your burning questions about Ontario snowmobiling regulations under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act (MSVA). If you know anyone who is new or returning this winter, please do us all a favour by sharing the Safe Rider link with them. Our Trails To Ride 2021 plan focuses on working through these challenging times to deliver the best trail riding experiences on as many trails as possible this winter with the cooperation of all snowmobilers. So please do your part by staying off Red trails, following Ride Smart 2021 recommendations and being a Safe Rider! Throughout the coming season, the OFSC advises snowmobilers to check the ITG and Go Snowmobiling Ontario App regularly and frequently to plan your rides and reconfirm your route before starting each morning. #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

We're still on a trail work break for hunting and waiting for freeze up. However our neighbors the Cartwright Dyno's Snowmobile Club and Long Sault Ridge Runners Snowmowbile Club are in need of extra hands this coming Saturday Nov 14th. Please make some time to head out and give a hand at getting your trail system ready. #givealittlegetalot #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #PPSC50years #weareasone #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails
