On Wednesday, May 5th and Thursday, May 6th 2021, Reaching Home will be conducting Portage la Prairie’s first Point-in-Time Homelessness Survey. This purpose of a Point-in-Time Count and Survey is to identify how many people in our community experience homelessness in shelters and on the streets at a given point in time. The Pit Count Survey approach is to include people who are unsheltered sleeping in streets, parks, and other public locations as well as people sleeping in ...Emergency Shelters, Violence Against Women Shelters and Transitional Shelters. Through the Point-in-Time Count Survey we will gather information on demographics and service needs of the homeless population. This information can then be used to target community resources to where they are most needed. Together, we can END homelessness!
