Codroy Valley Mobile Collection will not be going ahead tomorrow. Dealing with a medical issue out of town. I will keep everyone posted with the possibility of a pickup next week.
As a result of reverting back to level 5 of the Covid-19 protocols, we will be offering an Xpress drop off service only. We cannot and will not be offering counter service(waiting for bags to be counted). We will be allowing 2 customers inside at a time. Please wear a face mask when entering our building.... There is a handwashing station with soap and hand sanitizer next to the self serve kiosk, as well as a hand sanitizer station at the front door. Please do not give our employees a hard time because you do not agree with the rules, they are what they are until we can get control of this virus. Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding. Feel free to message me on here or call the depot for clarification. If there is no answer, leave a message. I check for messages when I am in the office. Jamie

Hello Everyone We will be closed Friday, September 4 at 12 noon and will be reopening on Tuesday, September 8 for the Labour Day Weekend. Everyone stay safe and enjoy the last weekend before school!
Good Day Everyone As per orders from the Chief Medical Officer, it will be mandatory to wear a mask here at the depot as of August 24, 2020. Entrance will not be granted if you do not have a mask on. To curb a possible issue I can see arising, if anyone comes to the depot without a mask and just leaves their bags outside the door, they will be considered abandoned and garbage. I do not expect my staff to bring those bags inside and tag them then store them. This will slow s...orting and counting significantly. So please, wear a mask if you expect to gain entry into the depot.

Hello everyone. There has been some confusion over what can and cannot be accepted here. The picture below are 2 examples of what we do not accept, meal replacements. We will accept most protein shakes such as Premier Protein. If the bottle says meal replacement, the we do not take them. They belong in the blue bag for town pickup. Thanks

CODROY VALLEY: I will not be doing the mobile collection this coming Thursday July 30. Our truck is coming out to pick up our bulk bags, which means I have to be there for it. Pickup will resume Thursday August 6. Times for pick up locations are changing as well. South Branch will remain 9 am - 10 am... Doyles will change to 10:30 am - 11:30 am Codroy will change to 12 pm - 1 pm Belanger will change to 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm I will be spending 1 hour at each stop. Please share so residents can be made aware of the changes.
ATTENTION CODROY VALLEY: There will be no mobile collection this Thursday July 9. The forecast is not looking good for an empty cargo trailer. We will resume pickup next Thursday July 16. Please share or spread the word amongst people who do not have access to this site.... Jamie
Ladies and gentleman, please be weary of what you place in your bags before you bring them here. This could have injured one of us pretty badly. I guess I have to now say no garbage, no caps or straws, no diapers, no javex, and no knives...please
We will be closed Wednesday, July 1 for Memorial Day/Canada Day. We do Memorial Day here in Newfoundland to honour those who lost their lives during the battle of Beaumont-Hamel on July 1, 1916. May we never forget them.
Hello All, 95% of everyone have been super great about having clean containers with caps off. This post is not about you...it is for the other 5%...Please, Please stop placing dirty diapers in bags. We are also seeing a lot of bleach bottle and detergent bottles. These go to the blue bags that the town collects. Also, taking caps off bottles is really slowing us down, on average we can count anywhere between 3-5000 more on a daily basis if people removed their caps.
CODROY VALLEY.. We are currently full and cannot possibly take any more bags in the Belanger drop off. We will be back next Thursday.
Hello everyone, just a reminder that milk cartons go into the blue bags to be collected by the town.
Quick update for Codroy Valley residents. You can meet me at any of the 4 drop points. You do not have to come to the closest point if you dont want to. Also, please limit your bags to 10 at a time. This will let us give everyone a chance to get some bags in.
This, ladies and gentleman is a bag lol biggest one Ive seen yet!!
CODROY VALLEY RESIDENTS. We will be starting a new mobile collection service as of Thursday, June 18, 2020. This will be every Thursday until further notice. 9 AM - 10 AM South Branch - South Branch Centre... 10:30AM - 12 PM Doyles(Old Depot Site)Servicing Doyles, Tompkins, Benoits Siding, St. Andrews, And Loch Lomond 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Codroy(Codroy Valley Seafoods) Servicing Cape Anguille, Codroy, Woodville, and Millville 2PM - 3:30 PM Upper Ferry(Belanger Memorial) Servicing Upper Ferry, ORegans, Great Codroy, Searston This will be evolving as we go further into the service. To begin, we are going to ask that people create an account online and place name and number on each bag. We will have tags and a signup sheet for people who do not have access to online. If anyone would like to have cash at the time, we ask that they count/sort and label their bags. We will prefer the Xpress account though. We can either e transfer money or have it on hand when we return to the valley with advance notice from the person wanting the account payout.
We will be closed today until the water comes back on. You can still drop electronics off in the green bin in front.
Happy 23rd birthday to our Shania! Have a great day! Lucky we are off at 12. If you drop in today with recyclables please take the time and wish her a big happy birthday!!!
We will be open tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. . We are very full and are waiting for the truck which is supposed to be here tomorrow. Please be patient with us at this time. If at all possible please wait until Friday or Saturday to drop your recyclables.
We will be closed this morning. We are waiting on our truck to come out which may not happen until tomorrow. We are extremely full in the warehouse and trailers.
Congratulations to the Class of 2020 at . St. James Regional High, Belanger, and Grandys River! Special congrats to my son Ryan who also is graduating today! Have a great time, from myself and staff of the Port aux Basques Green Depot.
I took this from our friends at the Burnt Islands Green Depot: Friendly Reminder All recyclables must be RINSED before they are brought in to be counted.... All LIDS, CAPS, STRAWS and GARBAGE must be removed. We dont have the time to be removing them. If possible, can you bring your liquor bottles in Boxes instead of bags due to they are breaking when the bags are being dropped off. Anything that has MOLD will be put in the garbage. Milk containers/cartons, lemon juice bottles, cleaning supply bottles, we DO NOT accept here, they go in your blue bag at home. TIN CANS - We only accept Pineapple juice and Tomato Juice. We are still getting recyclables that are not being cleaned. If this continues, your recyclables will not be counted for. We are here to count them not to clean them. Thanks
We will be CLOSED once again this Thursday May 28. We have even more than we had last week! We are still accepting electronic waste and paint containers. Remember that the paint containers must have a lid, it does not matter if it is empty or not. Electronics included are stereos, computers, laptops, telephones, home printers, televisions. We do not accept microwaves, fans, smart boards, routers and modems, just to name a few of what we have been getting and having to pay to get rid of.
We will be closed tomorrow May 21 to catch up on the amount we received the past 2 days. We will reopen on Friday, May 22 at 8:30
Codroy Valley Depot The Codroy Valley Depot is currently closed and will continue to be closed for the time being due to Covid-19 concerns. Residents can come to the Port aux Basques depot at anytime and drop off their bags. In the meantime, we are working with MMSB on an alternate solution to serve your area until the pandemic clears.... Anyone from Codroy area please share this so more people can be informed.
We are open tomorrow,Tuesday May 19 at 8:30 am. We have been noticing garbage, caps, and animal droppings in some bags. Please help us be safer by cleaning your materials before dropping them off. It is hard enough to keep up with Covid-19 items, let alone have to worry about animal droppings.. See you tomorrow everyone
We are open today at 8:30 until 12:00 noon. Have a great Victoria Day Weekend!
Some of our backlog from 2 days open
We will be closed on Friday May 15 at noon and will reopen on Tuesday May 19. This is for the Victoria Day Holiday.
Hello Everyone, we have to close tomorrow May 14 due to the massive backlog we have received in the past 2 days. We will need to catch up and get everything sorted before we take more. We thank everyone for their patience and business since our opening. We were expecting to be busy but wow, it is busy!
We are open for business. Tuesday-Friday 8:30 to 5:00 Saturday 8:00 to 12:00 Please have an account setup or visit greendepotnl.ca to set one up. People without access to the website can open an account on site.
This is a directive from MMSB regarding upcoming opening of green depots: Please be advised that the Port aux Basques Green Depot will resume operations on May 12, 2020. Our hours of operation will be Tuesday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Upon reopening, all Green Depot locations across the province will move to an Xpress only model of service and implement several precautions to ensure physical distancing and safety of staff. Traditional counter serv...ice, where a customer waits for their order to be counted followed by their cash payment, is suspended until Newfoundland and Labrador enters COVID-19 Alert Level 3. Xpress is an account-based system available at all Green Depots that allows customers to quickly drop off beverage containers and claim their refund later. Customers who do not have an Xpress account will need to register prior to visiting a Green Depot. For more information, including how to register for Xpress and operational details for each Green Depot, visit http://xpress.greendepotnl.ca/. Please note that dates for reopening and hours of operation may vary between other Green Depots across the province.
