EXCITING NEWS! We're happy to share an update on the 7th Annual Charity Gala (partnered with the Coquitlam Firefighters Charitable Society) which is now a virtual hybrid fundraiser happening on a NEW DATE, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Your Place & Online! While the world has changed a lot in the past few months, the need for our nutritional snack program and other charitable initiatives has not. This brand new, innovative event will raise money to support the families and... individuals in our community. WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE? A party at your place, with a little extra fuel for the fire! The community can get involved in this unique fundraiser in a number of ways, both online and in person. On September 12th, show your support by gathering at home with the people in your closest bubble. Pre-purchase a house party pack and the firefighters will deliver dinner, drinks and a few surprises to your door that evening. The night will celebrate the kick off of the firefighter’s online charity auction and 50/50 ticket sales. The community can also tune in to social media to see a few video messages from the firefighters and special guests. HOW DO I PURCHASE A HOUSE PARTY PACK? The party packs will be priced per person with a minimum order of 4 per delivery location. Included in each will be: - 3 course dinner - Wine, beer or spirits - Party supplies, games and a few surprises - Delivery to your door by the firefighters Package prices and meal options will be made available soon. Thanks so much to everybody who visited us in the rain for our Canada Day Barbecue, and wow, there were A LOT OF YOU!.. ...so many of you, in fact, that we actually had to rush out and restock (sincere apologies if you had to wait!) By joining us for lunch, you helped us raise $3500 towards our food voucher and @schooldistrict43 breakfast programs! We can't think of a better way to spend Canada Day than by sharing a meal with our neighbours.

It's going to be a very different Canada Day in the City of Port Coquitlam, but as Brad West, Port Coquitlam Mayor says in this video highliting the day's events, this holiday Wednesday is still going to be jam packed with fun and entertainment for the whole family! We will be doing our part as always to feed our community by putting on an awesome drive-thru barbecue at Hall 1 at 1725 Broadway, with proceeds from the barbecue going to support our Charitable Society! Come by and say hello, grab some food, and have a safe & happy Canada Day!

Less than one week until Canada Day! Whatever your plans are, and wherever they take you on this year's holiday, make sure you stop by Hall 1 to grab a burger cooked up & served to your vehicle in a COVID-safe manner. Proceeds from this event will go to the PoCo Firefighters Charitable Society's food voucher program, so while you're filling your stomachs you'll also be helping fill up the stomachs of school kids and friends in the community!

Our Elementary School Food Voucher Program has received another big boost! Our Charitable Society is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (via Community Foundations of Canada) and Port Coquitlam Community Foundation. This new $7500 grant puts food in the stomachs of our community's little learners and their families, and with the new funding we are excited to add Kilmer Elementary to the growing list of School District 43 - Coquitlam schools benefitting from this program! #ECSFund #strongcommunities #pocofirecharity
