Like the weather... it's a HOT leaderboard. Brett Cairns is familiar with the golf course as he is from nearby Courtland ON and has played here often in the past. We will see which player takes home the $4,500 1st prize tomorrow.

ICYMI: A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS 4/28/20 We find ourselves in unprecedented times, know we are taking steps and safeguards to keep our clients and employees safe. This is our number one priority. Also, the shared frustration in the early beautiful weather and that we were unable to enjoy a few rounds of golf. We all know the right thing to do is, stay home, stop the spread, save lives.... Golf Canada, National Golf Course Owners Association, Canadian Society of Club Managers, PGA of Canada and Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (collectively known as National Allied Golf Associations - NAGA) have been working with all levels of Government to make certain we have a consistent message that golf offers physical distancing, recreation, physical activity, and much-needed fun. We have essential staff only on board to maintain the course so that all greens, tees, and fairways are kept in condition once the State of Emergency is lifted. Many exciting changes have been made to both the interior and exterior of the clubhouse and a new Pro Shop added to better serve every Customer. Our enthusiasm for the season has not been lost with this delay, remember that it rained last season until early/mid-June and yet we all enjoyed many rounds of golf and the built-in comradery of the game. With that said, we are uncertain what the game will look like once the current restrictions are lifted, but rest assured that Port Dover Golf Club and our Team will come out strong to offer you a safe and outstanding golf experience. Course designs from the 1950's and 1960's are becoming true classics in North America. This was a very dynamic era in golf. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and someone called Palmer were dominating golf while a young Jack Nicklaus hit the scene in the early 60's. These personalities brought golf to the forefront of American sport. More people were beginning to play but not everyone could afford or desired to be a member of a private club. This resulted in the demand of golf courses to b...e designed so more of us could enjoy the game of golf. Farmland was purchased or converted into golf courses. Farm houses were used as clubhouses. Barns became maintenance sheds or clubhouses. In many places across Canada, these barns are still being used and upgraded to preserve club history. When you walk into the clubhouse (original barn from 1961) at PDGC, you are walking into some unique history of not only our club.. but golf in general.
