Even though our Legion remains closed for the time being due to Covid 19 we are going to continue to fundraise to maintain our building and monthly expenses. We have decided to offer meals every 4-6 weeks. On August 23,2020, the Port Morien Legion will be hosting a lobster roll dinner.(take out only). For $12.00 you will receive a delicious lobster roll, toppings of shredded lettuce,cucumber, tomatoes and onions (in a separate container) and a dessert. For anyone... who can’t eat lobster we wil also have a Black Forest ham roll available for the same price. Pickup will be from 12 pm -2 pm in the parking lot of the Legion. Social distancing applies. Without you, it would not have been the huge success it was.

From the President of the Morien Legion, Branch 0 5: As everyone is well aware, with the Covid 19 pandemic, many businesses and companies are facing financial problems, with Branch 055 being one of them. While we are in no immediate danger of not being able to meet our bills, we have lost considerable revenue due to the pandemic. We have had to cancel the Dinner Theatre, Morien Memories, Davis Day, Celtic colours, the Fall Fair as well as a number of weddings and dinners, eve...nts which would have garnered us approximately $25-30,000. Depending on how long our business is curtailed we risk depleting our cash reserves to meet our bill payments. With this in mind, we have decided to hold a take-out lobster dinner on Friday, June 26. Because it is a fundraiser, we have set the cost at $18.00 a dinner, including dessert. unfortunately, because of the risk from the virus, we will have to supply the lobster in the shell as there is too great a risk of contamination otherwise. We will however crack the claws and tails. Orders can be placed by calling Myrna at 902-565-2758. Pickup will be at the Legion parking lot on June 26, from 11.00 a.m. to 1.oo p.m. Thank you for your support.

After careful consideration , the executive of Branch 055 Port Morien Legion have decided to close for the next 2 weeks. We will review our decision at the end of this timeframe to decide if it has to be extended. This means that all events that have been scheduled in this time frame are canceled , including darts , bingo, and country market. Sorry about any inconvenience this causes. There will be a roast beef Valentines Supper at the Port Morien Legion on February 14th 2020. Supper will be served at 5:30 pm . Cost is $17.00 per person. There will also be music provided by Donnie Campbell and Jinx O’Neill from 5-5:30 pm and 6-7 pm. Saturday February 15 ,2020 is our alternate date in case of storm. Please call 565-2758 for tickets. Introduction To Digital Video/Photography This two hour workshop will cover basic operation & features for those who are new to this hobby or want to get creat...ive with their equipment. Topics will include; basic principles such as Depth of Field, Focal Length, Aperture settings, Lighting, Sound, basic Non-Linear Editing (NLE) and Picture composition. If you already own a digital camera/camcorder, bring it along for practice. Cost: $25.00/person Location: Port Morien Royal Canadian Legion.
