If you've been looking out the window every 15min today waiting for the change over to snow, look again, because the rain has changed to snow :-) Merry Christmas to all of you from all of us at the Port Perry Snowmobile Club #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

The press release we've all been waiting for ..... :-) Now it's up to us to show everyone how we can enjoy the outdoors and our sport safely. #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

It's now up to the riders if we want to ride once we get the snow and cold to open the trails. Don't mess this up folks, do the right things and keep yourself and others safe. #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

Together We Can Do This: OFSC Requests Cooperation From Snowmobilers Hold your horses. Curb your enthusiasm. Cool your jets. Don’t jump the gun. However you want to say it to snowmobilers excited about the first significant snowfall, the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) cautions that riding any OFSC trails at this time is premature, illegal and unsafe until a trail(s) show as Yellow (Limited Availability) or Green (Available) on the Interactive Trail Guide (ITG).... Furthermore, premature use of any OFSC trail actually makes it considerably more difficult for a club to get that trail base set and ready for the upcoming season, so everyone has to wait longer. Worse, it is also trespassing that frequently results in a permanent trail closure. As snowmobilers know, the OFSC, our districts, clubs and volunteers are working hard to deliver the best possible trail riding experiences this winter, but we need your cooperation and patience throughout the season to succeed. With many factors indicating increased participation in trail riding this winter, your assistance not only means staying off Red (Unavailable) trails at any time, but also includes following our Ride Smart 2021 pandemic response plan for healthy snowmobiling to prevent virus spread that could threaten everyone’s riding season. Meanwhile, we are aware of safety concerns being expressed on social media about many novice and former snowmobilers expected on the trails this winter. So, the OFSC is strongly recommending that new or returning riders invest an hour or so to check out the Safe Rider tips under Resources on the OFSC website (especially sections 3, 4 and 5) which are also great refreshers for every snowmobiler. While you’re there, please also take a moment to read the waiver and answer your burning questions about Ontario snowmobiling regulations under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act (MSVA). If you know anyone who is new or returning this winter, please do us all a favour by sharing the Safe Rider link with them. Our Trails To Ride 2021 plan focuses on working through these challenging times to deliver the best trail riding experiences on as many trails as possible this winter with the cooperation of all snowmobilers. So please do your part by staying off Red trails, following Ride Smart 2021 recommendations and being a Safe Rider! Throughout the coming season, the OFSC advises snowmobilers to check the ITG and Go Snowmobiling Ontario App regularly and frequently to plan your rides and reconfirm your route before starting each morning. #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #weareasone #givealittlegetalot #PPSC50years #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

Give a huge shout out and thanks to all these awesome people that put aside some of their time to volunteer last Saturday. Groomers are now preseason serviced and ready for snow, and all our dry trails are prepped and also ready for snow (baring no wind storms). Now we wait for freeze up to get into our wet areas, which we have lots of. Staking and signing will also begin soon, just waiting for a few more fields to clear off. We will resume posting our call out for trail work once that happens. Again thanks to all, we couldn't have gotten it done this early without the great amount of volunteer participation we received this season. #givealittlegetalot #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #PPSC50years #weareasone #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

Looks like today will be the last of the warm weather, so enjoy it while you can. In saying that, lets see what our fellow volunteer Jeff McGirr from the Bonfield Snowmobile Club and Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd has to say about the upcoming season. Most of you know Jeff puts a lot of time and research into his yearly forecast, and is known to hit it pretty close to dead on. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us sleeders Jeff :-) #givealittlegetalot #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #PPSC50years #weareasone #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

Have a look at this fantastic re-decking job last Saturday's trail heros accomplished in just a few short hours. Huge thanks to all that gave some of their time Saturday morning to help out. Great to have bigger jobs like this struck from the list early :-) Our awesome trail coordinators Brian and Brian are trying to assemble another crew for this coming Saturday Oct 3rd. We will be meeting at Seagrave Park at 53 Coryell St Seagrave at 8am. A Northern section of E108 has a f...ew trees down that need to be brushed out. As always all are welcome and encouraged to come out to help prep your trail system for the up coming season. The more help we have the better your trail system will be once the temps and snow starts dropping on us. With the recent and up coming rain this week it'll be wet so good boots are a must, along with dressing for the weather please make sure to bring your mask :-) Directions to Seagrave Park https://www.google.ca//data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89d56b0a7 #givealittlegetalot #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #PPSC50years #weareasone #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails

Trail work reminder for tomorrow folks "Brian is trying to assemble a crew again for this coming Saturday Sept 26th to finish the bridge redecking on trail PPSC 101. We will be meeting at Seagrave Park on Coryell St Seagrave at 8am. As always all are welcome and encouraged to come out and lend a hand, and most importantly share some laughs while giving back to your trail system. Bring your boots, hammers and masks ;-) " In the meantime here's an old slide show vid we made s...ome years back. Lots of familiar faces to many of us local and from afar, some have passed, others moved away, some just had life changes that no longer allow them the time to help out. Some still coming out to this day and will be out there tomorrow. Many different walks of life and ages, however diverse each and every person you see in this vid had one thing in common. That one thing is, they cared enough about the sport and trail system to make time to give back, to ensure they and all sledders have somewhere to ride. Also to enrich their local communities. Whether you come out and help our club or your local club somewhere else, watch this vid and allow it to inspire you to get out and give a hand. A few hours helping here and there makes a huge difference in having or not having trails to ride on. Huge thanks to all the trail hero's past and present that make it all possible :-) #givealittlegetalot #volunteersandlandownersmakeithappen #PPSC50years #weareasone #OFSCdist3 #GoSnowmobilingOntario #OntarioSnowTrails
