We kindly ask that you do not stop by the office unless it is a pre-scheduled in-person appointment. For those with an in-person appointment, we will conduct a screening process, to ensure everyone's safety.... We believe our community can band together and get through this!

It's been a challenging year for everyone, including non-profit organizations in our area, so we are happy to be able to support those in need. There are so many non-profit organizations that do wonderful things for our community. Give back if you can!

Over the past several months, Portside Law completed a high-level review of all of the bylaws within each of Cape Breton’s municipalities and created customized action plans that municipal councils could implement to modernize their bylaws. The Cape Breton Regulatory Modernization Pilot is a partnership between the Office of Regulatory Affairs and Service Effectiveness; the Cape Breton Regional Municipality; the Town of Port Hawkesbury; and the Counties of Inverness, Richmond..., and Victoria. We are proud to have been able to assist in this project, which will make it easier for businesses all over Cape Breton to open, operate and expand!
