I love my hood As we were struggling to strap on the mixer we borrowed from our local library of things, a fellow member (known to the folks who run the library but not to us) drove by and offered to drive it to our home! Minus temperatures bring out warm-heartedness. Feelin that community feelin.

This is why this place is my favourite cafe in town. A place that creates community and cares. Yes it’s cold - it’s Canada! But we’re still lucky we can socially distance walk outside. Believe me the coffee is worth the walk.

Turning the mountains of mud life gives us into places of beauty. And meeting a few new friends along the way! I have an usual love of stones. Quite frankly I think it's mutual. They love me back! This summer I spent hours and hours washing every stone from this pile, unveiling their beauty to the world. Stones teach me a lot about life. Some of us have muddy exteriors but when we take the time to brush up close to them, they reveal their unique beautiful interiors.... Honest to Goodness, I'm like a child with a kinder surprise egg, waiting to see what's inside each time I wash a stone. Am I the only one? What lessons do you hear when you take time to do what you love?

Self care this weekend was wrapping up to enjoy the bright, and blooming freezing day on Saturday. The bike ride blew off a few cobwebs. That’s it...I think I’m about ready to hibernate. Spent Sunday indoors as the winds howled and great big branch was blown down from our tree.

Uncannily warm November afternoon. It feels so good being in the sunshine especially knowing it might be the last before the snow comes! Taking time to enjoy the good times helps us weather the harsher times. What can you do on self care Sunday’s to fill your stores before you face the week ahead?

If we needed any reminder that things turn golden with time, just look at the beauty of autumn. The same way we have golden oldies music and the golden years.I spent time with family today (on zoom across the miles) listening to my father tell stories of his childhood. Golden moment.
