As most of you are aware Possibilities Recovery is part of this amazing mental health initiative called WeConnect. This not only opens the lines of communication about mental health issues but begins to smash the stigma surrounding it. We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of such an amazing awareness campaign and educational platform. There are some amazing speakers, educators and supports of mental health and addictions. The next few weeks has a number of great sessions,... but a few I’d like to point could help those in our Possibilities family. The session on self care for caregivers would be an great opportunity for those supporting someone in recovery to understand their importance in self care. This is happening in February 23. The second session would be Let’s talk about anxiety. This one is happening on March 4. Please remember this are all free of charge and interactive. Have the most wonderful day!

Amy partnered with Possibilities Recovery Center last year to create a custom soul painting to be live auctioned at their main event, and then covid hit and it was cancelled. This year we asked her again to partner with us. Our event is happening March 13th online from the comfort of your home, with all the benefits of a live event. It's going to be one you won't want to miss! All proceeds go to their charity account to help fund people who can't afford the healing benefits ...of the center. Your contribution will help them not turn anyone away. I had the pleasure of chatting with Amy founder of True Colors and AmyDawns yesterday. Her story is one of strength and understanding. Her passion for mental health and creating a holistic approach and understanding gave me goosebumps. We are also partnering with this amazing lady for something huge to come. We can't wait to announce it. Please check out our website to on the events page to learn more about our fundraiser and who we are. Possibilitiesrecovery.ca

We have been so blessed to recieve April's story on her recovery and substance misuse. April is an amazing women and mother, who has created a life she is proud of. I am proud to share my sobriety birthday with such an amazing human. Unfortuntley, we hear stories like hers all the time. April is one of the lucky ones, she reached out for supports and was vulnerable. She is in recovery and creating her new life. April was also lucky enough to access much needed supports to... help her begin her recovery journey. For lots of individuals this is not the case. Most wait months to speak to counsellors, and months to recieve any supports. Addiction doesn't discriminate, but our system sure does. Financial barriers are put into place with mental health and substace misuse. If you have money you can access quality supports qucikly. If you don't have money you wait month, or years to access the supports. Please support our fundariser or make a donation. Either through the silent auction, purchansing a ticket for our online event, or donate. All money raised will help to eliminate those financial barriers for those in our community. Tickets can be purchased through our website at possibilitiesrecovery.ca/fundrasier-event

A little behind the scenes photo. Campfire Stories Video Production is doing our video testimonials that will be used during our event and for an awareness campaign. Not only did they provide the studio time but they also provided almost the entire service to our organization as a donation. Kyle and Allia are the most wonderful people. Thank you very much for your work. Stay tuned for the finished product. Thank you to those who shared their stories.

Asking for help is the first step to a new journey in life. Imagine you have gathered the courage to ask for help, only to be turned away and told you’ll have to wait months? Well... this is the reality for those living with substance misuse disorder in Saskatchewan. ... Our program is set up to alleviate the strain on the public system. We can accommodate individuals waiting for inpatient, needing support coming out of inpatient, or provide an intensive outpatient treatment program while individuals are living and working in our communities. We have also created a program that isn’t restrained by geographical barriers, as we run online as well. Only issue is most individuals who reach out for help is the affordability of treatment. We are a charitable non-profit with no outside funding. We will continue to advocate for those individuals who are left trying to navigate the system. Without funding we will cease to exist. This means even less supports for Mental Health and Addictions in Sask. Please donate to help those individuals who have taken the step to heal at possibilitiesrecovery.ca #possibilitiesrecovery #smashthestigma #help
