THANKFUL THURSDAY!! This Thursday we want to thank two special ladies, Tara Baker and Bonnie The Boss Lady, for volunteering every Thursday afternoon coll...ecting bottles. We are grateful for their hard-work and dedication. They have so much fun cruising around listening to music and spending time together while doing good deeds for our community. Thank you, Ladies! We wouldnt have our Bottle Recycling Program without the outstanding support we receive from Eagle River Chrysler. They kindly provide us with a beautiful truck which allows us to collect bottles from our 100+ locations around Whitecourt. Thank you to Eagle River Chrysler for being our ongoing community champions. We are also thankful to Pots n Pansies Greenhouse & Garden Centre for generously donate flowers this year, helping us make our flower pots look so beautiful. We appreciate your generosity. A couple of New to us items for 2021! 1.) Gorgeous Fern Leaf Peonies 1 gallon pots-$39.95 2.) Sweet Potatoes in a 1gallon pot-$14.95 Choice of 3 different ones. We have had sweet potatoes in the past but these are different ones and theyre already prestarted for you in a pot. The prestarted plants give us an edge over the unpredictable weather we have here in Alberta by already growing and having a good root system started. ... As these are a very popular item with our suppliers theyre only available by pre-order. Orders must be in and pre-paid before September 15th. 3 year ago we had an amazing young lady join our little greenhouse operation. Shes the first to greet you when you arrive at the greenhouse with a big smile and an offer of assistance. As most of us are starting to think about putting our gardens to rest for the winter your local greenhouses and garden center are preparing for Spring 2021. Yes its that time of the year for us to order our seeds,trees,shrubs,roses,pot stuffers, cuttings,perennials,pots,baskets,soil and so much more. This is also a great time to talk to us about your fundraising for your group fundraising.... Are you looking for a way to extend the lifetime of your beautiful whiskey barrels? Weve got the solution!! We will be planting all of our custom pots for our customers that have whiskey barrels in these inserts in the spring. They really help to prevent early break down of the barrels and an added bonus you just pick up your insert take it home and plop it into your barrel. Done! If this is something youd be interested in for your pots please let us know.

Good morning everyone. So heres the schedule of upcoming workshops. You must be pre-registered and all workshops must be paid at the time of registration. Registration deadline is 3 days prior to the workshop.(except the first workshop as I got this posted kind of late. ) We need a minimum of 10 participants per class for the class to go ahead. ... No refunds will be given, you will be given credit towards another workshop. If youd like a succulent workshop please let us know as we do have succulents available. As we reflect on the past season we are so truly grateful to all of you. This year has been a roller coaster ride for sure. With all the craziness in our lives this year and COVID 19 all I can say is OH MY GOODNESS!!! To all of our new customers that we had the pleasure to meet this season we thank you for coming out and supporting our little greenhouse operation, and we really look forward to seeing you all again. ... To all of our regular customers that have stuck by us from day 1 thank you from the bottom of our hearts youve helped this little business to become the success that it is today. We cant wait to see you all again. And finally the biggest asset to our greenhouse our AMAZING GIRLS!! Alicia Borle ( I cant seem to be able to tag her)this girl is definitely my right hand lady. From fundraiser organizer, building tables,helping with orders,to chasing down an elderly customer that forgot an item at the greenhouse. Shes always so bright and cheerful and we couldnt run the greenhouse without her Ellen Mourits is one of our new girls this year and were so thankful she joined our team. Ellen is so kind and thoughtful and shes so very friendly. Whether working overtime,planting MANY tomatoes or moving pots she always had a smile and a kind word for all that she encounters. Sue Teefy is another new face here at the greenhouse this year. Sue has helped us out tremendously helping me do deliveries,picking up plants and helping out in every way possible. If anyone needed help Sue was always right there to help customers out. And then there is Trish another lady of many hats! The children loved Trish. This girl kept us entertained throughout the season and made the days go by much quicker with her quick wit and sense of humour. From building many items for us to helping many children find the elusive dinosaurs and unicorns. (We dont let her hide them anymore) She kept us on our toes!! We cant thank these girls enough for the amazing work they did each and everyday they were here. THANK YOU!! *We will be taking a couple of weeks off from the greenhouse but will still be doing a few workshops during our break time.

Alberta Open Farm Days is today and tomorrow here at the greenhouses. Our antique vendor is getting set up now. Bring the family and a picnic and come check it out. Fun for everyone.

Oh my goodness!! One of our Mini Farmers Market vendors is unloading! Another truckload to unload yet!! If youre an antique buff you really need to come and see them tomorrow or Sunday during Alberta Open Farm Days. Hours are 10-6 both days here at the greenhouses.

Were getting pretty excited for our first Alberta Open Farm Days. Just a few things we will have to share with you. 1.) Ladybugs arrived today!! Well be doing 2 ladybug releases each day. 2.) Succulents and more succulents 3.) A cute little baby eggplant. 4.) Cucumelons- you may even be able to taste some. Yummy!!...
