What a year 2020 was for real estate. Even with the circumstances, we saw never-seen-before numbers in the latter half of the year. Strong activity in December brought 2020’s home sales total to 30,944, which is a staggering 5,593 more than 2019 (+22.1%) and only 2.8% below the 10-year sales average. December saw 3,093 total transactions, which was an astonishing 53.4% increase compared to December 2019.... The benchmark rate increased across the board for all housing types. settled at $1,554,600, which was a 10.2% increase compared to December 2019. was $676,500, a 2.6% increase when compared year-over-year, and saw a 4.9% increase compared to December of 2019. In terms of inventory, there were 2,409 newly listed properties, which was a 51.7% increase compared to December of 2019, and the year finished with 8,538 total homes on the market, which was a 0.8% decrease when compared year-over-year. Momentum from 2020 is expected to carry over into the spring market, and if projections are accurate, 2021 will be a big year for real estate.
