Powderfinger 10.06.2021

Hello, Powderpeeps. It's been a while. Nine years ago tonight, the band played it's first gig in Toronto at a small underground tavern called Paully's Pub. Most of us were nervous, and we didn't know too many songs well yet, so we asked our future vocalist/sometime keyboard/banjo player Chloe to do a set with one of her bands at the time Strut Check. She agreed, and between us, we tore some paint off the place. It was a great night had by all, and a sign of the good times to ...come. With Chloe eventually joining the band, and by some stroke of magic, her Dad Terry, we became a really kickass band, and as we have drifted a bit into some other music for some private parties, it became really evident. But time moves on, and situations change. With the departure of three of the Fingers for various reasons, the band essentially has come to a halt. Last Sunday, August 6th, the remaining three members of Powderfinger put the old girl to rest, with our good friend Ian Nielsen, who mixed our first gig, as it were. It was a fantastic party, one which was probably the climax of our tenure as a band when we played there two years ago as the full Powderfinger family. With that said, on behalf of everyone in this group, thank you so much for your support and friendship, it means so much to all of us, and this page will remain open as long as anyone wants to see it or say hi. To anyone who ever made it out to see us, and you were many, thank you and we love you. There were so many great friends met and so many great friendships made. Always remember, it's better to burn out than to fade away... Peace and love ~Powderfinger~

We had the pleasure of a preview of the Marshall Potts band (with our very own Mark Watts, Saul Kiaune and Paul Whiteside). What an amazing sound. There wasn't one of Marshall's original songs that we heard today that didn't have us grooving. Marshall J Potts is a Kamloops based original artist that has this amazingly unique sound that will take you through lilting ballads to toe tapping tunes to hard hitting rock. If you are in the area, you owe it to yourself not to miss th...is rare opportunity to see this great act tonight only at the May Cafe in downtown Toronto (https://www.facebook.com/events/168918453899054/). You won't be disappointed. Like Marshall's page here: https://www.facebook.com/marshallpottsmusic/
