As many of you know my husband and I have a not for profit organization based in Uganda . We primarily help rural villages have access to clean water by helping to protect springs. We have been at it in our own capacity since 2005. I first went to Uganda in 1999 and lived there for a year and fell in love with everything about the people, culture and landscape. Geoff went in 2002 and we then fell in love - we have since devoted a lot of our time there and resources. Here is an update of the past few year. Mini me sessions! #minisessions are only here a few times a year. Before kids are out of school for the summer I would like to offer one day only 15 minute sessions. Almost 11 years ago I was blessed to become a Mother. It was a shitty, hard first year. My daughter did NOT sleep, she cried constantly and puked after every meal. I felt like an utter failure. I had read every single book, I asked all the questions and yet I just couldn’t get it right. I’m here to tell you that I know your dark nights and your tired days and it gets better!! My kids sleep! They eat (ok they are picky as F!!) but we have kept them alive and happy! I wish someone had told me they knew what I was going through and that I’d be ok. Instead people offered so many solutions that never worked. I just needed someone to say it was ok. So I’m saying you are OK! And if you’re through the woods cheers my friend!! Happy Mother’s Day x. Born at 32 weeks and before that his parents had so many hard choices to make as doctors really did not have too much hope for as he was so tiny, but little Elvis had other plans, strong as an ox and determined to be here! His photoshoot was a wide awake one as if he wanted to say to me, "Look, I have to fight really hard to be here so I ain't sleeping through this!"... This photo shoot, on a personal level, was a tough one for me as my nieces little girl was hoping to be home early January but she was called home way too early :( Being with fiesty Elvis was, at the end, the breath that I might have needed all this time. Reading anything good these days? Currently reading Sapiens and my Sociology/Anthropology degree side of myself is loving it! (Did you know I have a double degree?) "Having a baby is a life changer. It gives you a whole other perspective on why to wake up in the morning." - Taylor Hanson This is so true in my life! I used to sleep in, paint till midnight, read books all weekend... then I had kids and my life revolves around these little people! I think about them constantly! This last Saturday my little 7 year old had a horrible accident on the ski hill - don't worry, despite the stitches, bruised ribs and broken tooth he's actually am...azing!- but man did it ever shake us up! My husband and I did not sleep for 2 nights and then we catch each other in lost look and then look at each other and say, "Man... it could have been so much worse!" We feel lucky this week. Having a brand new gorgeous baby... like sweet, sweet Jordan, is the beginning of all those emotions. We love them like we might loose them all day every day. They are the best gift we can ever be given!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It sure has been a wild ride this year. A world wide pandemic, missing out on so many events, loss of economy world wide and in many parts of the world, starvation and death due to the lack of income. If you know my heart then you will know that I love to give and help. We all need to work together to help those who cannot. I thank every client this year who donated to the Food bank and Women’s centre. To those who sent money to South Africa to help starvin...g families and to those who continue to help fund our organization in Uganda helping villages have access to clean water. A little honestly goes a long way! Here is a tally of the giving from my family and our community. Thank you for being part of this. A very special thank you to @tarynvanrensburgphotography !! I was unable to head home due to Covid and my Dad is unwell so it was killing me. Taryn helped me create a gorgeous coffee table book with not only the photographs she took 2 years ago when we were home bu also a collection of pictures of my Dad and I when I was Lille and him visiting us on previous visits. He received his gift today and was so overjoyed! He said it was one if the best gifts he’s ever received! Made the world feel a little smaller today!
