With God as My Co-Pilot 22.01.2021

Final Day of the With God as My Co-Pilot Workshop Well Attended With All Students Successful Completing All Exercises. In addition to reviewing basic taxi, departure and landing procedures, students practiced emergency landing procedures and also learned about the critical role of air traffic control given the thousands of aircraft in the air at any one point in time. Another highlight of the workshop included a podcast by Evan Treit, a young AirCanadaJazz pilot from Calga...ry. His photo is shown below. After the podcast Evan spoke to those present by Skype and answered various questions asked of him by students and others. We are fortunate to have Evan's actual flight simulation equipment available for use in our workshops. Great job Evan, and thanks so much for volunteering time out of your schedule to spend with us! Efforts are underway with the Manager of the Regina Flying Club to arrange an airport tour (and in particular the control tower) hopefully on Saturday Oct 5. Details will be forthcoming as soon as confirmation is received. Student introductory flights will need to be confirmed with the Regina Flying Club - depending on available instructors and aircraft. There are no instructors or aircraft available on Oct 5, so an alternative time will be arranged. After presentation of certificates, students were able to show friends and family some of the things they had learned including flying fighter aircraft as well as large airliners. Special thanks to pilots Jim from the Regina Flying Club, pilot Gordon from Assiniboia, and Wayne, a pilot and father of one of the students from Southey for pitching in and really helping out with the event. Thanks also to Atilla, Terry, and Pastor Glen who also gave generally of their time and energy to ensure the workshop was successful. We also must acknowledge the kindness of folks at the Lighthouse to All Nations Church for the use of their great facility. April, Rob and Hope were with us every step of the way - thanks Lighthouse! Sincere apologies if case I have missed anyone. Please feel free to add your comments and / or Likes as you may wish! Hope you like the photos.
