This guys face says it all Got a call from our friends @elimchapelwinnipeg after someone threw a rock through their window. Thankfully the stained glass wasn't damaged, we simply had to remove the stained glass windows to allow for the exterior window to be replaced. We will return and reinstall the stained glass once the exterior is sealed up

Follow up our previous post announcing this year's Helping Hand Ornament for 2020 in support of @wcwomensctr Here is a peek at our design process for this year's piece We started pondering a design theme for this year's ornament and it seemed fitting that for 2020 we needed to celebrate Manitoba's 150. So we brain stormed what we thought could symbolize Manitoba and the one theme that seemed to be stick in our minds was the iconic bison.... We always try to get to work on these ornaments well ahead of our self imposed November deadline. This year we started prototypes for the bison design way back in March, literally just when the Covid-19 pandemic hit here in Manitoba. Needless to say we have been on a roller coaster ride since then, which slowed down the production of this piece. But we took every spare moment to slowly chip away and refine this year's piece to get it to the point where we would begin full production of our limited run of 60 ornaments. -The 3.5 inch glass rondel was made using sheet glass that has a stenciled design applied to its surface using powdered glass. This gives the piece its colour. The glass is then kiln fired, this bonds the glass elements together. -The glass rondel is then hand engraved to give us the fine details for the bison and grass at its feet. This engraving process creates depressions in the glass that are then filled by hand with black traditional painters stain. -The paint is then kiln fired and cooled down to room temp. then the paint is reapplied a second time and fired again to get the color right. -Next we hand formed a copper bezel that will allows the glass to be hung. -Then we created 240 tiny bronze rods with a slot cut into them. -The glass is then set into the copper bezel and then the bronze rods are set in place and soldered to the copper bezel. The bronze rods retain the glass within the copper bezel. -Next we hand engraved each ornament on the outside of the copper bezel. One side reads " Manitoba 150, 1870-2020" the other side reads "Prairie Studio Glass and the number of each ornament 1 through 60" -A leather string is tied to the copper and each ornament is then gift boxed,

Wow! I can't tell you how excited we are to finally reveal this year's "Helping Hand Ornament" in support of our partner charity West Central Women's Resource Centre (WCWRC) for 2020! We have made a limited run of only 60 ornaments this year, which are available right now, on a first come first serve basis. Last year our 60 ornaments sold out in 3 days! So contact ASAP to avoid disappointment and to confirm availability! Each ornament sells for $100, with every penny going t...o the West Central Women's Resource Centre! To minimize our costs, payments can only be made by cash or e-transfer. Sorry for the long post :) but these ornaments are truly a passion project. I stopped counting mid way our production when our man hours reached 160, that's over 2.5 hours per ornament or one month of labour! We are very proud of this years "Helping Hand Ornament" and to partner up with our westend neighbours West Central Women's Resource Centre (WCWRC) We aim to help them out this holiday season as they continue to provide life changing support to women in need, right here in the westend. Thank you very much for your support, we could not do this every year with out your help, so THANK YOU

Throw back to pre lockdown when we could host classes. Some great landscapes were made by all the attendees at our Cast Glass Landscapes workshop taught by our very own @doranlucinda. Such a great range of styles and colours in this group
